| Despite steep odds, the White House has discussed prospects for reviving a major overhaul of the nation's immigration laws, a commitment that President Obama has postponed once already. Obama took up the issue privately with his staff Monday in a bid to advance a bill through Congress before lawmakers become too distracted by approaching midterm elections. In the session, Obama and members of his Domestic Policy Council outlined ways to resuscitate the effort in a White House meeting with two senators -- Democrat Charles E. Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina -- who have spent months trying to craft a bill. According to a person familiar with the meeting, the White House may ask Schumer and Graham to at least produce a blueprint that could be turned into legislative language. The basis of a bill would include a path toward citizenship for the 10.8 million people living in the U.S. illegally. Citizenship would not be granted lightly, the White House said. Undocumented workers would need to register, pay taxes and pay a penalty for violating the law. Failure to comply might result in deportation.

Amnesty = democratic rule forever. This is why we need to retake the house and senate and even support RINO Mark Kirk so we get the fricking votes to make McConnell majority leader. Getting GOP votes in the Senate and House has to be our number 1 goal right now. Everything else, forget till after November.
Work precincts, phone banks, whatever. We have to win. And we can beat Boxer. Forget the RINO problem for now. They are a vote for McConnell who is ranked as one of the most conservative men in the Senate.
I would take Sony Bono over any democrat, democrats are Obamabot lemmings who will lead us to the destruction of America.
We need to retake the country now! Forget about sabotaging RINOs with third party folk who will only elect democrats. I know RINOs are a touchy issue here on FR. I hate em as much as the next guy but, if they will vote for McConnell then they are good enough for me.
Obama is a socialist, he will do everything in his power to push through socialism, the RINOs who have won their primaries are not socialists they are just, well, RINOs but they deserve our support so we can get McConnell in there.
This is why we have to elect Kirk. This crap would never reach the Senate with a GOP majority.

As far as most of us here are concerned, there never WAS any doubt as to the Usurper's intentions. He made clear exactly how he wanted to "fundamentally transform" America -- BEFORE the dreaded election of 2008.
The lingering problem is that, oh so many of our fellow citizens drank the red Kool-Aid and didn't pay attention. All the warning signs were there, and they came right from Barry's lying commie lips.

Some estimates have at least 8 million illegal aliens residing in California alone. The 50 million total for the country sounds about right.

I haven't had any doubt since before he was elected. Knowing he is a disciple of Saul Alinsky, and that he has even taught Alinsky's beliefs, was all I needed to make that determination.

nearly 70% of the population wants a crack down on illegal immergration and even more are against amnesty. How is that a wedge issue?
This is a loser for them just like cap and trad and healthcare.
