Turkey has recalled its ambassador to the United States on the heels of a vote on a resolution in the House Foreign Affairs Committee declaring the 1915 massacre of millions of Armenians a genocide, previewing the potential problems the measure could create for ties between the U.S. and Turkey.

This same bone-headed issue almost sabotaged our efforts in Iraq in '07, when we were having problems at the border of Iraqi Kurdistan. It was pure Democrat sabotage. The only thing...people forget that a Republican RINO was at the heart of it: Pennsylvania's Charlie Dent ( http://removerinos.com/DentCharlie.html )I don't know why he's been given a pass. Mat Benol should hold his feet to the fire.

Maybe it was genocide. Why are we passing a resolution “declaring” it?

It was 100 years ago and Turkey is now a rare entity: an ally in the Muslim world. It was not in our interests to piss them off. This was totally counter-productive, the mark of a bunch of amateurs. The Nazis and communists murdered, between them, probably 200 million people and we seem to be doing business with Germany, Russia and China these days.

Demos Sharkarian (sp) was the founder of Full Gospel Business Mens something or other...

He was born in CA but his folks were Armenian...

In his great litle book “The Happiest People on Earth” Demos tells the story of this massacre and how his family were saved and escaped to America...

(I used to have a copy but i may have given it to someone)

He tells of a young boy who warned them in prophecy to flee...

The Armenians were divided some refused to believe it could happen...

Those who left were saved those who stayed were all slaughtered...

and guess what religion the murdered people were ???

Christians...

and their murderers ???

Moslems and Turks...

Oh noes Nana...

You iz jest a bigotted old woman...

“Obama, who was supportive of the legislation when he was in the Senate and a candidate for President, ...”

How many times does that man have to lie before people fully understand that he’s a lying sack of crap.

I’ve seen videos where Armenians stated that they clearly believed obama was going to do this. When will people learn that no one can trust this man.

The Armenians have been fighting for years to get this slaughter declared a genocide, and rightly so. It was genocide. Hitler used it as justification for killing the jews...figured Turkey got away with it, so why not him. I will admit the timing is strange.

Turkey is no longer a US ally, due to the Islamofascists having been elected; they’ve been conducting a purge of the Turkish military (second largest armed forces in Europe, after Russia’s). It’s time to hold the Islamofascists responsible for it, in order to strengthen both the opposition in Turkey, as well as to improve US relations with the neighbors (and potential new countries).

This won’t happen of course, since the Sock Puppet doesn’t serve US interests. Thanks Reeser.

I apologize—I shouldn’t have used the term “bone-headed issue” since some people might construe this issue as being about genocide. I’m just at a complete loss as to why the fact of a genocide needs to be declared. More importantly, I’ll never forget clenching my stomach in disgust in Spring ‘07 when we were getting our first glimmers of hope in Iraq—and Congress DID THIS only weeks after Turkish incursions into Northern Iraq. Is the “declaration of genocide” important enough that we should do it, even if this declaration can increase the risk of a new genocide? Because if the stability in Iraq had not taken hold....my goodness....

HI Nana-— Muslims and Turk??? NO

Muslim Turks—all Turks are Muslims aside from some few - who have converted.

And it was not a massacre— it was a genocide— planned and carried out to eliminate every last vestige of Christianity except just enough to make the
“west” happy and to say - well we in Turkey we have Christians left. Sick joke since they are constantly harrassed and often brutally murdered.

I thank you for your acknowledgment and defense of what is right. So many these days dismiss these events as “too far in the past” or even worse as “not important enough to jeopardize a military relationship with an so called “ally” -— disgusting! - when did supporting evil predominate over what is right?

We are doomed if we do not take a stand for those millions of Christian victims - many of whose descendants are brave US citizens and veterans.
