It's handgun control in the extreme.
A Michigan kindergartener's make-believe gun - which he created with just his fingers - got him suspended, the Grand Rapids Press reported.
Mason Jammer, 6, who attends Ionia's Jefferson Elementary School, pointed his finger-gun at a fellow student Wednesday and got kicked out of school till Friday.
School officials said they had given Mason numerous warnings over several months, and his gun play created discomfort for other kids.
Mason's mom said the suspension is "too harsh" for a young boy.
"He's only six, and he doesn't understand any of this," said Erin Jammer, who suggested there were more fitting punishments. "Maybe what you could do is take his recess away."
Mason doesn't even have toy guns at home, said his mom. "He's six, and he just likes to play," said Jammer.

ROTFLMAO!
Maybe there should be 0 tolerance on sex, violence, etc from Hollyweird and video games by parents?
I should photoshop Joe the Plumber’s head on Kowalski’s body.
Good one!
LOL!! One of the best photoshops ever!
A couple of years ago in Irvington, NJ. two kingergarten boys were arrested and brought to the police station for pointing chicken fingers at each other in the cafeteria. They were pretend shooting.
The p.c. crowd has gone mad.
...and Biden's on the barber.
Yeah, it got old when my brother and his friends used to do things like that to my friends and me.
We just got over it and got even.
His only problem is that he pointed with the wrong finger. They would be perfetly happy if he had used the middle rather than the index.
Makes me wonder, what with the reaction to “retard” etc: Is it now non-PC to point to the temple, and make the “crazy” signal?
I agree to the extent that giving the boy a respect for what guns are would be a good way of ending this “bang bang, I annoy you for months” stuff.
Dumb kid! Doesn’t he know he needs to paint the tip of his finger orange so he won’t get in trouble?
Holy crap! This is really serious stuff here folks!

Seriously. What's wrong with this country?
We used to bring shotguns to school to go bird hunting in the late afternoons after school.
Every kid had a jack knife in his pocket. And we brought lunch from home.

Hmm...
Like most of us Freepers, I've seen dozens of ridiculous stories were kids get suspended for "gunplay" involving everything from their fingers to a chicken nugget (<--true story). This is likely just another case of zero-tolerance nonsense.
That said, there is also the possibility that there is more to story than at first seems. If the kid was bullying other kids or becoming a nuisance, then I'm inclined to agree with the school. I've seen some terrible behavior from kids his age, including little wannabes who try to act 'gangsta'.
We don’t know the entire context here. This is an increasingly mad day when kids engage in senseless, lethal attacks at increasingly young ages. I read a story the other day about a first grader who the principal threatened to kick out of skewl on his first day for doing a finger-point at the ground. The kid, understandably, is now shy about even raising his hand in class. Now this is silliness. But months of “bang, bang, you’re shot” to someone who is not willing to treat it as play suggests more nowadays than it did in most of our youths.
