Orange tipped toy guns.... A good idea gone bad.

To further add to the mix, a considerable amount of the criminal element are now painting the tips of their ‘Real Weapons’ with an orange tip. It’s easy to understand their reasoning. Once again, Law Enforcement find themselves in a deeper hole. Ironically, if this criminal who has no criminal record and is allowed to own this weapon in the first place, there is no law preventing him from painting the tip of his real gun orange in the attempt to make it appear as a toy.

You would think that this would be the end. Not so.

We also have several so called law abiding citizens complete with Concealed Carry Permits who are also painting the tips of their weapons orange. The worst offender is an individual named Leonard Embody.

LOL— meanwhile, my cousins were running around in the woods in the 1970s playing war and cops’n’robbers and cowboys’n’indians with their BB guns.

Shooting at each other.

Yes, they all still have all their eyes— one lost a piece of his finger (bitten off by a fish).

I finally gave up on finding an M1 Carbine that doesn’t jam. Unless I buy one for $1400, I always get stovepipes after a few mags.

BTW Consider one of these.. The Polish Tantal.

Small and compact more accurate than the AK47, most likely because the round has less recoil.

Its like a Soviet .223

The draw back is there is no optics rail

I’ve been itching for a side-folder.

Ever since I saw how crappy the underfold design was.

Color me SHOCKED! (not) My 14 y/o plays airsoft. His favorite gun is the M1A1.

I don't play airsoft, so the the muzzle of my M1A does not have an orange muzzle. However, it is my favorite "long gun".

A mere 12 pounds empty, and 28-1/2 inches long with the stock folded, it still should only be fired with the stock deployed.

I could paint the whole thing orange, and most people still couldn't figure out what it was. This whole color thing has just added to the confusion, which is why "kiddie" guns like water pistols are now transparent plastic.

Orange muzzle or not, the whole concept has been violated so much in both directions that prudence dictates treating everything you see as real. This is what happens to crooks and punks who think they're being smart. It's the same principle as sticking your hand in your pocket, and pretending it's a weapon. You can still be legally killed just as dead.

(Sigh) Must be nice - I could understand it if it was just one gun, but all of them! I’ve had over half a dozen M1s over the years and have had nothing but trouble. Everything from a cheap Plainfield to a good National Postal Meter to Winchester to IBM even. All jammed on me after only a few mags. Took them to the gunsmith and got only shrugs. Pity though. I really like M1s. I think I’m just unlucky with them. Never had those problems with anything else.

Now they were pretty much all WWII surplus - could be age wear and fatigue. Or it could be that I’ve never cleaned a gun in my life. (Just kidding.)

Odd. My first was a lousy Universal.

Worked like a hose. Got a Rockola and it works like a hose

The one issue I see with the M1 carbine is that they deliver a blow to the rear of the receiver and the sights get knocked loose.

Its a great lil carbine. Tight and quick.

In my day, we had Lugers that were painted black with wood grainn plastic grips and had operating knuckle actions that reliably fired roll caps one shot at a time. Not to mention submachineguns that fired entire rolls with a single squeeze of the trigger.

If anybody - kid included - tries to boost the local 7-11 with a toy gun and gets shot, well, that’s just too bad.

This whole nation has whimped out.

Most of the hits for "draco pistol" are just AKs with no buttstock.

Then there's this "snubby":
