Tea Party Plans March Obamacare Protest: Plan a three-week Washington sit-in to stop passage

President Obama isn't the only one stepping up efforts on the healthcare front. As the president passionately pushes for passage of his plan in campaign-style stops in Pennsylvania and Missouri, tea party protesters are planning to swamp Washington to block movement on what they consider a huge expansion of the federal bureaucracy.

In a notice to the movement's supporters, the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition said it wants to confront Democratic backers of the president's plan over the next three weeks as the party's leaders work to secure enough votes for passage. Here's their message sent to Whispers:

Memphis, TN--March 8, 2010 -- The Nationwide Tea Party Coalition is today announcing a new project, "Take The Town Halls To Washington", which is designed to bring tea party activists to Washington, DC during the month of March to meet, question and review the positions of approximately 50 Democrat members of the House of Representatives whose vote on the pending Health Care legislation has not yet been publicly announced. Tea Party Nation is a collaborating partner in the project.

Spokesman Mark A. Skoda, who is also Chairman of The Memphis TEA Party stated, "President Obama has indicated his willingness to ignore the people and force his bill through Congress using whatever means necessary. Our objective is to bring thousands of constituents to DC to meet with their representatives, capture their comments and produce a review of those positions on a daily basis. We believe that time is of the essence and the people need to understand where these representatives stand before any vote is taken."

Organizer, Michael Patrick Leahy further stated, "After more than a year of tea party resistance to the big government efforts of the Obama Administration, it all comes down to the next 3 weeks. The Administration has made it clear. They intend to ram down the Health Care takeover through a corrupt Congress by the end of this month, in direct defiance of the clearly expressed will of the American people."

"It is time for every tea party activist across the country to consider dropping everything he or she is doing and join us in the most important battle of our life time. We need your energy, commitment, and efforts to make this succeed. We need you to consider coming to Washington during this 3 week period, and if you can't come to Washington, be part of this project in your local area."

A nationwide kickoff is scheduled for tomorrow at 6PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 with meetings in DC scheduled to begin the following day through March 31, 2010. Logistics are being coordinated for those coming to Washington and daily briefings and reviews are scheduled during the project. It is expected that visits will take place while Congress is in session from Monday through Friday.

The Nationwide Tea Party Coalition is an informal federation of thirty local tea parties from around the country who work collaboratively on important national projects. It was the group that organized the February 27, 2009 "Nationwide Chicago Tea Party" in 51 cities around the country that launched the Tea Party Movement, as well as the April 15, 2009 Tax Day Tea Party, where 1 million tea party activists attended events in over 900 cities.

Smart enough not to be a part of your “healthcare”’ ...

On February 25th, 2010 “Health Care Reform Reconciliation Day” Americans were told to reconcile the gun to their head and say its not all about socialist agenda when the very unsupported health care reform bill will be called for passage before Easter recess..Opposed because what is contained in the 2100 plus page Healthcare “Reform” bill are bullets to your pocketbook ....It does not address what it costs to; administer health care,insurance or waste.....This “reform for special interests” sets up rules and regulations that they (your US representative) are exempted from because “they” (your congress member) have their own Mercedes Limozine delivered health coverage paid by US but different from US “cuz dere smarter”....It’s certainly not about jobs.... except government jobs... and rewards to the party faithfull..

True reform went languishing But controls and regulations didn’t. There is selected funding to specialized clinics (abortion),Florida and Mississippi gets a free ride at your expence, .., Restricted drug purchase coverage ,can’t buy drugs which are cheaper from foreign countries,... No correction of a system (because of no tort reform) that requires additional tests and medical procedures thus adding to insurance costs, ....But there is a deep cut in Medicare, That’s just some of what is in this package and then there’s this .... Mandatory National Health insurance premiums deducted from paychecks from everyone now, (Except those exempted from co-pay; congress and others), but won’t go into effect until 2014.
If your member of congress votes for these bullets to your pocketbook (estimated cost 2 trillion) AND YOU LET ‘EM ...You deserve what you get !..More and more rules, regulations, and Taxes Once again you must man the ramparts and respectfully tell your US Representative
