Vanity: Districts Without Represention for the Health Care Vote
mewzilla

Posted on 03/10/2010 7:08:24 AM PST by mewzilla

I live in the NYS's 29th Congressional District.

We don't have a Congress Critter at the moment, and so far our governor has shown no inclination to call a special election. We won't have representation in the House for an upcoming vote on Obamacare.

We aren't the only district without a voice. The late Rep. Murtha's district doesn't have a representative yet, and possibly other districts are without a Critter as well.

Hundreds of thousands of people will be left voiceless, without a say in the vote on Obamacare. A vote that will change our nation and our lives.

We need help to make certain that any vote on Obamacare is delayed until every district has representation. If folks in other districts could call their Reps and ask for a delay in the vote, it might help.

I know this is a vanity, so is this okay to post? And if so, is there any way you could correct my spelling screw-up in the title? It should read Representation.

Thank you.

I know they can hold the vote.

But being deprived of representation dang well matters to us :)

My local demo-Rat is 110% in the tank for this. Won’t even waste my time and breath. Better to join others in pressuring those we might flip.

FWIW, I think we've got a wedge issue here. Reps may still be in the tank for Obamacare, but how can the so-called party of the people say it's okay to hold a vote that disenfranchises hundreds of thousands of voters?

Ask them why it's okay to force a vote when so many of their fellow Americans are without a voice.

Per this link...

Office of the Nineteenth Congressional District of Florida Formerly the Office of Representative Robert Wexler

...Wexler's seat is still vacant.

Question for folks in that district: Do you all want a say on Obamacare?

Two points:

1. I'm disenfranchised myself, and I'm in the district with Rep. Tsongas... who has fingers in her ears when it comes to so-called HCR.

2. For this "HCR" anyways, there are no borders or districts, because each and every rep threatening to vote 'yea' is voting on our health and lives, our kids lives, and their kids.

Is -21bama in your rep's district? He's lobbying everybody's districts.

By definition, Pelousy and Reed (sic) are not in your district. They are lobbying every other rep. WE are all in our rights to lobby each and every congresscritter on this bill.

But you've still got a Rep.

I want to see the 'Rats held to account for trying to hold a vote that leaves over a million people without representation.

Here's some rough math for the number of folks without a Critter:

NY-29: Over 600,000

PA-12: Over 600,000

HI-1: Over 600,000

FL-19: Over 600,000.

Those are conservative estimates.

Over two million people will be deprived of representation if the vote is held while those seats remain vacant.

Paterson claims to be open to scheduling a special election for NY-29. We’ll see.

To be fair, no one has any representation in this freaking fascistic health take-over nightmare. It’s Obama-Pelosi-Reid ONLY.
