Don’t you remember her from the 1976 classic “Logan’s Run?”

I was too busy panting over Jenny Agutter in her "circuit dress".

To me, that’s the real issue here.

They shouldn’t memorialize every celebrity who has died. They can’t. So sombody has to draw a line and make a decision. Some people won’t like the decision. So far so good.

But then why include his gloved weirdness? IMO, neither MJ nor FF should have been included.

Farah Fawcett was a major star. This was clearly political discrimination. She was a devout Christian.

Here’s an excerpt from an ABC News piece last June:

According to ABC News reports, a Catholic priest has given actress Farrah Fawcett her Last Rites. Fawcett’s health is worsening and has sadly taken a very serious turn, resulting in the summoning of a Catholic priest to give her the Last Rites.

ABC reports that Farrah Fawcett is a devout Catholic Christian. A close friend has described her being “fearless” at the moment thanks to her faith. The Catholic priest reportly administered her the Last Rites in a Los Angeles Hospital. As Fawcett clings to life, members of her inner circle, Dr. Lawrence Piro and longtime boyfriend Ryan O’Neal are gathered at her hospital bedside.

Online media reports also reveal that Allen Miller, Farrah Fawcett’s publicist updated his Twitter about her worsening health and about receiving last rites. “It was just related to me, that our Farrah just given last rites. She is not in any pain. For those who believe make contact with God now,” wrote Allen.

They can bore us with memorials to Hollywood insiders no one living east of the five has heard of but can't find room for actors we remember like Fawcett and Barry.

And they wonder why their numbers dwindle.

I remember the day it was announced; on talk radio, etc. it was “Farrah Fawcett has died” and for a couple hours people remember her, but then...

Michael Jackson dead!
Michael Jackson dead!
I remember hearing on a talk show the word that he had been rushed to a hospital; soon some rumors had it he was dead and then it was confirmed. From then on, talk and news stations
were all over it. Music stations went nuts on his music. Etc.
Anyway, her death was soon overshadowed by the passing of the Gloved One...so, they forgot.

That immortal performance in The Wiz, apparently (not that I ever saw it...)

Similar to The Grammy’s cutting Frank Sinatra short. I no longer watch either smug fest.

Didn’t Farah Fawcett play Robert Duvall’s wife in The Apostle?

Yes.

That she did. One of Duvall's great films.

I really can't understand why so few people will own up to a mistake. This guy says he's sorry "but stands by the decision?". Leaving out the others was equally egregious.

I'm glad I don't watch the Oscars anymore.

Yep, she was also in "The Cannonball Run" which did fairly well back in 1981 (far better than "The Wiz" did).

Wonder if they mentioned Edward Woodward. He never won an Oscar but I think he won a British Versions of the Oscar and at least one for the Australian version of the Oscar for Breaker Morant.

"Don’t you remember her from the 1976 classic “Logan’s Run?” Now, there’s a movie that should have won an Oscar!"

I found it remarkably prescient of Obamacare.

A couple of movies she was in come to mind:

Sunburn
The Cannonball Run

The Academy screwed up. I could understand not including her if she'd never appeared in a movie. But...

I also thought that The Apostle was one of Duvall’s best acting performances.

One of the true proofs of the idiocy of movie makers. Logans run has Farrah Fawcett, and a nude scene, but not together.
