According to its liberal authors, the "sobering" results of the survey provide "a wake-up call for President Obama, his party and progressives on national security."

Most noteworthy is that the liberal pollsters did not mention this result when they reported the poll. Had to look at the original data to find out.

Plus, Obama has helped the gun industry sell more weapons and ammo!

I believe ‘gun control’ is the only issue that 0bama and the dems are truly afraid to touch. If they make any serious effort at ‘gun control’, it will either be during his second term(if he has one), or during a lame duck situation.

“a wake-up call for President Obama, his party and progressives on national security.” No poll results will alter the theories and liberal instincts driving policy on the Left.

Is it lawful for police to take a persons guns if their soon to be ex-spouse files for a protective order?

The police came yesterday and took a friends guns away.

National security? How about on the intrusion of unqualified crooked stooges who couldn’t get an honest job into our lives?

Yes, that’s common practice. The protective order just says he can’t be in possession while the order is in place. Typically, it doesn’t say he has to surrender them to the police. I’d think his attorney could hold them if the divorce court judge isn’t a ding-dong. Big “if”.

Barack Obama is alleged to be the best gun salesman in the USA.

Nothing ‘alleged’ about it, I assure you from personal experience.

State laws vary but federally he did not have to give up the guns unless he had a hearing where he was allowed to defend himself. Many agencies go overboard and simply confiscate guns as soon as the order is approved by the judge upon initial request, though.

Your friends unfortunate experience underscores the need to have firearms in several locations where you can access them in the event that one or more are compromised.
