Numbers 25:3-4

So Israel joined in worshiping the Baal of Peor. And the LORD’s anger burned against them.

The LORD said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of these people, kill them and expose them in broad daylight before the LORD, so that the LORD’s fierce anger may turn away from Israel.”

Thank you for that. I’m trying very hard to grab on to that because I do believe it with all of my heart. But also, my heart is broken over the direction we are headed as a Nation. I know that no human government system will last but I didn’t think I would witness this.......all of this (at one time) in my lifetime. But I knew when Obama was elected, it would head this way pretty quickly. It’s just overwhelming.
Have you been on the Religion thread? Good article there about the Rapture by the IgnorantFisherman.
Thanks again for your encouragement.

check out Hugh Hewitt website. He has a email system to send letters to Blue Dogs.
http://hughhewitt.com

He also has a link to the Tim Burns, the Republican trying to take Murtha’s old seat.

Send him a contribution to send a message to the Democrats.

It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.

That Jefferson line stood out for me too. The Founding Fathers were prophetic in many ways. I come across prophecies in Washington’s writings and speeches also. They worried whether the construct they labored for would stand, or for how long.

There is something wrong with them for saying such a thing. WHo in their right mind could be undecided? You are right- it is code for “show me the money.”

"The shackles, therefore, which shall not be knocked off at the conclusion of this war, will remain on us long, will be made heavier and heavier, till our rights shall revive or expire in a convulsion."

Jefferson was so prophetic in his writings, that I sometimes think he was Nostradamus in a previous life.

He foresaw with crystal clarity that our freedoms would be eroded over time, and that we would eventually come to a time of great upheaval, during which time those rights would either be re-established, or would perish.

I think that most of us would agree that the time Jefferson foresaw, is now.

Does this kill the Slaughter plan? I’m not sure what this ruling entails.

“I think that most of us would agree that the time Jefferson foresaw, is now.”

Or close to it.

I don’t have a crystal ball, but I think that no matter what goes on in DC, a great portion us of still know who we are. We had been forgotten, and we had forgotten ourselves until we noticed what was happening. It choked me up seeing all the tea party protesters come out. I really thought I was alone until I saw them.

There are other things to be positive about also, like the Supreme Court abandoning stare decisis and interpreting the Constitution in that political speech case. Sure it was a small step compared to where it needs to go, but it has to start somewhere. I’d like to think that what’s going on out in the broader public square had something to do with it, and maybe we’ll see more in the years to come.

Things do look kind of grim at the moment, but I think we still have a ways to go before TJ’s prophecy comes true and there plently of things that can happen to put us back on the right track.

I agree with you that where there's the Will of The People, that there's a way back for us.

I also agree with you that the current mood of the country probably helped the Supreme Court to move the stern a bit more to starboard.

However, I think that if Thomas Jefferson were here today, and reviewed everything we're witnessing, he'd tell us that the second American Revolution was overdue by at least 75 years.
