Gay & lesbian news bores the hell out of me.
And here emerges the Obamunists excuse to end “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” and replace it with open acceptance of homosexuals in the military....
I thought homosexuals kicked out of the military did not receive honorable discharge.
I don't see this as police misconduct. I do see this as a woman who thinks the world owes her. She got an honorable discharge. So, she get her benefits. She can get a nice, Federal job and all that time counts towards her retirement.
I don't feel sorry for her.

She should get a dishonorable discharge. So now taxpayers are going to be giving her money for the rest of her life?
I know I’m setting myself up for angry attacks by expressing this opinion, but I’m going to express it anyway:
I believe that gender does matter. I believe that gay men in the military are a direct threat to the moral of the military, in a way that gay women are not.
Reading the article, the “more to the story” is that the police came looking to arrest her partner on theft charges, and she wasn’t willing to assist the officers in finding her partner.
My guess is that they saw the same sex marriage certificate proudly displayed in plain sight and notified the military base out of concern that she might sneak her partner onto the base and they would then have a lot more to deal with later if they didn’t let the base personal know exactly what was going on immediately.
On a general note, most people learn (or get to find out the hard way) that if you are married to a person with problems, you also marry that person’s problems, and they are now your problems too.
Don’t Ask Don’t Tell or allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly isn’t going to change the reality that the authorities have to be willing to drop the hammer to do what is necessary to arrest and take into custody those that break the law, and if it is someone who is married to a service member they have to be worried about what the service member will do to protect his or her partner.
Certainly the police would have to do what they thought was necessary to possibly prevent bad things from happening.
I think the police notified the base personal out of concern that if she was uncooperative with them in trying to locate her partner, then she might likely do what she felt was necessary to protect her partner, and that might include sneaking her partner onto the base to hide out (or maybe her partner was already on base, since they couldn’t find her and her partner wasn’t talking). And of course there is always the possibility of one or both of them maybe getting hold of some weapons to stand off against the police, etc...
If that’s the case, then I’d say the police did the right thing in this case.
Another dyke loses her position in the shower. People with gender identity disorder should seek help or suppress their appetites for the perverse.
If she complied with the policy and served honorably there is no reason that the cops should have told the Air Force, and even less reason for the Air Force to discharge her.
