In a survey of more than three dozen grass-roots tea party leaders from 29 states, the party’s 2008 presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, was the Republican most cited as a disappointment. Asked which three national Republicans they were most unhappy with, McCain was named by 18 respondents.

"[Conservatives are] going to destroy the f*cking [Republican] party...
Why would I want to be the leader of a party of such a**holes?"

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, UNKNOWN

"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 APR. 2004

"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008

[McCain] would be "...comfortable with a homosexual
as president of the United States."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 21 DEC. 1999

"I would rather have a clean government
than one whose — quote — First Amendment rights
are being respected that has become corrupt.
If I had my choice, I’d rather have a clean government."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 24 APR. 2006

"I think that gay marriage should be allowed,
if there’s a ceremony kind of thing,
if you want to call it that."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, FEB. 2007

"But certainly in the short term, or even the long term,
I would not support repeal of Roe vs. Wade,
which would then force women in America
to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations.”

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 24 AUG. 1999

On senior citizens: a group "that makes demands without contributing."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 20 JUN. 1986

"I'm not a socialist."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 18 FEB. 2010

"I believe climate change is real."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 23 FEB. 2010

"I have great respect for Al Gore."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 02 OCT. 2008

"In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics,
you’ll pay a heavy price. By the way,
I think the fence is least effective.
But I’ll build the G****mned fence if they want it!"

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, FEB. 2007

"We need to sit down as Americans
and recognize these are God’s children as well.
And they need some protection under the law;
they need some of our love and compassion
I want to assure you that I’ll enforce the borders first.
We’ll solve this immigration problem."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 28 NOV. 2007

"There are jobs that Americans will not do,
so we have to make it possible for someone to come
to this country to do a job that an American won’t do
and then go back to the country from where they came."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 16 OCT. 2004

John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts...

Just say no to Senator McCain

Palin is showing a serious disconnect with Conservatives by supporting McAmnesty.

And that could complicate GOP plans to harness the energy of the tea parties

Only if the GOP is determined to continue committing suicide. If they dump McCain and Gramnesty, or at least stand aside while they are dumped, they will certainly be stronger.

They have begun to admit that in the case of Crist, who looks like he is finished unless something unforeseen crops up.

Unfortunately Gramnesty doesn't come up for election again for quite a while, but the least they can do is discipline that idiot. Call him in, lay down the law, and discipline him if he continues to be a loose cannon.

As for McCain, I don't expect them to reject him. Just stand back and let the primary sort it out. Stop supporting that jerk.

John McCain is a Large part of this Disaster we are experiencing and are bearing witness to the destruction of our country. His name needs stricken from Republican roles forever. Sarah Palin needs to be very careful of these dregs she is endorsing.

"Romney presidential campaign staffers…have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters."

" 80 percent of Romney's former staff was absorbed by McCain
and these individuals were responsible for what amounts
to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."

I don't buy this Politico survey. Only 50% of "grass roots Tea Party leaders" (whoever they are) have issues with McCain?

I would say the number approaches or is 100%.

Lumping Mitch McConnell in with the RINOs we all oppose is dubious too. His ACU rating is 90%.

Asked to rate on a 10-point scale the extent a series of conservative figures embodied the principles underpinning the tea party movement, respondents gave the highest grades to flame-throwing media personalities including Glenn Beck (who earned the highest average ranking: 8.4), Michelle Malkin and Andrew Breitbart above conservative Republican stalwarts who have actively courted tea party support, including Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina (who scored an average rating of 7.9), Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota (7.8) and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (7.5).

Gotta love it.

Here is ANOTHER McCain quote that I thought was despicable:

"Thank God & Greyhound he's gone."

-- Said right after Pat Buchanan left the GOP for it becoming a big-government party. I can't remember the date, but I do remember seeing the video of him saying it on the news.
