Romney refused to drop out in the last election, even when it was clear he had done poorly in the Northeast and would do even worse in the South.

But Romney split the vote, so that we ended up with McCain as the front runner. And McCain couldn’t beat Obama.

If Romney had dropped out instead of visciously attacking the more conservative candidates, Obama might not have won and we might not have had a constitutional crisis.

I think we all need a group hug.

Of course, if we were democrats, it would be a grope hug.

Today's crisis was brought to us by TEAM ROMNEY.

Mitt RomneyCARE (D, RINO): "I'm not running as the Republican view
or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Backstabber Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

Mitt RomneyCARE (D, RINO): ”I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform.
"
(Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

--  President Ronald Reagan

“Romney is 100% on the side of Obama”

I am no Romney fan but that is an absurd statement. Romney care is a disaster no question but to say on every issue Romney and Obama are the same is clearly false. Romney would be a far better steward of the economy. I DO NOT want Romney as the nominee but this hatred against him and equating him to Obama is lunatic behaviour and makes us look like fringe kooks.

LOL! IIRC it is the owner of the site who does not like Romney very well so you might want to ask him about you appointing yourself decider of what is talked about here?

I’m not as rough on Romney as some here ... but I fail to see how this board could be any more focused on the crisis to which you refer. It is virtually the sole topic of conversation 24/7. Even unrelated random threads will have Obama/healthcare related comments.

If the minimal time/ space devoted to Romney around here were refocused on Obama, I think things would pretty much be the same as they are right now.

If you don’t like the Romney discussion, don’t participate.

Had Romney dropped out, who do you think would have won the nomination?

Today's crisis was brought to us by TEAM ROMNEY.

"Frum ... (Romney supporter called Gov. Palin’s) nomination a "huge mistake" October 13 (2008)"

Frum: "I will support (Romney) without qualm."

"Romney presidential campaign staffers…have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters."

" 80 percent of Romney's former staff was absorbed by McCain
and these individuals were responsible for what amounts
to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off
….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
... was Nicolle Wallace's husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

I agree. The obsession of Romney hatred is really perverse.

We face serious problems at the moment and Romney isn’t one of them

Now once we clear Obamacare (if we do), then let’s discuss Romney.

But if Obamacare passes and immigration “reform” passes, it is all moot. Our economy will die, crime will go through the roof, etc. It won’t matter. There will be no future for the USA. We will be Venezuela and Argentina is one Commie package.

Hell, even Brazil with a Commie in charge is in better shape than we are.

Romney not only left judicial appointmsnts vacant for the Dems to fill. He himself appointed a strongly pro-abortion Democrat to the bench.

Freepers and the American people have always been able to focus on more than one issue at a time.

Not saying we can't but Obama, Pelosi, et al are pounding these Representatives 24/7. You don't see them worrying about who's going to run in 2012 because this fight is all they care about.

So, of course, we all can multi-task etc. but this issue is so important, all-important.

Mitt RomneyCARE (D, Carpetbagger):
“Shhhhhh. Maneesh. You are sooooooo wrong.
I Was For The Obama Bailout ....
Before I Was Against It”

“Romney praises Obama
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney praised President Obama
at a GOP fundraising dinner Wednesday ..
"I also think it's important for us to nod to the president when he's right," Romney said....
Romney, who spoke at a dinner for the National Republican Senatorial Committee,
said he's pleased with the president's plans to "finish the job" in Iraq and Afghanistan
-- lines that drew applause from the partisan audience. He also applauded the president
for standing up to the auto industry.
"I hope he continues to be tough ....The former businessman even offered faint praise for
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, saying that after a series of initial missteps,
"I think he's finally getting close to the right answer."

The American Military can fight on multiple fronts because they have to, there are multiple threats.

Same at home.

Well, mindbender -

I guess you have your answer.

You have been a Freeper long enough to remember when we had more REAL Freepers than nattering nabobs in here.

It has definitely tipped the scales in the other direction. gone are the serious conversations and actions that used to be.

FR is just a shadow of itself 0 and the reason romney is on nearly every post - Mr R hates him with a visceral passion.

So where have all the REAL Freepers gone? I'd really, but really like to find them.

I was never good at gossiping over the fence.
