bs. list what government products like cars, computers, cell phones are competing against private for profit companies now , today. i’m waiting. Oh yes here is my U.S. government made cell phone.LOL. NOT. government works too slowly , red tape, they could never obtain the knowledge correctly enough or in time to manage the millions of interactions in an industry or economy and get it back to the companies/workers in time for it to work even if government idiots were trying and accountable in the first place. see there is no freedom in government . in the free market you have small business owners making their own decisions with information at hand which a far away government idiot could never obtain in time or correctly enough in a socialist/marxist/communist/government controlled economy. see some far away government idiot makes the decicions, approves requests for equipment etc.

government/socialim doesn’t work.

some governnment agencies now in the U.S. yeah they use private construction companies to create their buildings, they buy computers made by private companies, software made by microsoft, installed by network companies and u call that government working? get a clue.

read hayek , freidman.

just to manufacture a pencil it requires the competition, bidding, and cooperation of thousands of people and hundreds of private companies, like logging companies, graphite mining companies, rubber companies, saw companies for the logging companies, and all the equipment manufacturers for these various companies and so on . a single or a few government idiots could never manage this as government works through slow red tape, command not cooperation, and the knowledge needed to plan all these companies and thousands of interactions which are constantly changing could never be obtained by a government official in time to be able to ever work.

You're an ideologue who cannot see the truth as it smacks him in the head. How many government-funded and government-created services do you use every day? A shitload, that's how many. Your electricity. Your roads. The GPS signal you use. Government invented the communications satellites that carry most of your communications. There are entire industries built around government-funded efforts.

We can and do agree on the principle that the government should stay out of commercial ventures; but to claim as you do that government produces nothing of use ... that is quite simply false.

The problem with claiming otherwise, as you do, is that it is so clearly simplistic and false, that it leads you to make stupid comments; and it makes thinking people dismiss whatever else you have to say.

They could take microscopic comfort in the fact that the rest of the world is rushing to join them on that score.

Ah, see that is where I have an advantage; I’ve seen Hitchens at work elsewhere. Here’s an intersting talk he gave in Canada where he was discussing his opposition to their new hate speech law. It’s several videos but you should be able to find the rest from the first one. Watertight logical arguments.

How do you know when the old famine ends and the new one begins?

It’s what happens when ideological demands trump the truth.

Sounds just like Obamacare to me.

And this starving sap will go back to Lil’ Kimmie and his ‘all-starvation, all-the-time’ country as soon as she possibly can.

The Norks are simply unsaveable. They would prefer starvation, deprivation, slavery, and death under their glorious Lil’ Kim rather than escape or revolution.
