Democrats unveiling revisions Thursday to their health care overhaul bill decided to kill the extra $100 million in Medicaid funds for Nebraska that has become a symbol of backdoor deal making.
But the 153 pages of changes to the massive health care package include extra money for hospitals in Tennessee that serve large numbers of low-income patients. And though the bill would revamp the nation's student loan system to make the government the only lender, one bank — the state-owned Bank of North Dakota — would be allowed to continue making student loans.
That provision ended up rubbing Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., the wrong way. Fearing it would become a target by Republicans in what he said is "an overly heated partisan environment," he asked the House late Thursday to remove it from the legislation.
Still alive is special spending for Louisiana, Connecticut, Montana and other states that was included in the health care bill that the Senate approved in December. The House may give it final approval this weekend.

The GOP should just save it till election time then during a press conference or a debate ask the Rat opponent if they were aware of the law against taking bribes for votes? If they answer no then just respond with, “ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking the law”.
This is only if the favor comes from a private party. If it is a government emolument, full steam ahead!
Hardly. That will trigger a number of lawsuits by States Attorneys General in a number of States challenging the mandates in the Senate bill.
Also, Landmark Legal will file its lawsuit challenging the House procedures on constitutional grounds.
It ain’t over by a long shot.
The fight will continue and get more contentious, which Obama hopes can energize his base before the mid terms. The Reps will be the obstrtuctionists and the party of No. The community agitator will be in full throat castigating his enemies and touting his success.
I disagree. The States’ suits RE: mandates, have a very good chance of succeeding. The Virginia AG will file in The Rocket Docket, which hopefully will live up to its reputation for speed.

I hope he will also be asking for an injunction to stop the law in its tracks while the suit travels to the USSC.

But you’re ready to give up if the Houses passes the bills tomorrow. Why would you give up while there are still moves on the table that could bring victory?

This will be my last post for now since I am headed for the Capitol to participate in the Code Red demonstration at the Capitol. I was just at a demonstration yesterday at George Mason against Obama's appearance touting Obamacare. What are you doing to stop this thing?

I’m the one who said it moves to the courts. Not you.
Thank you for representing many of us by attending those events. When the time comes that we’ve truly lost all or nearly all, I will be willing to travel 1,200 miles to help all efforts toward removing the current elected officials from office. It is not time today to remove myself from all possibility of earning money as an independent businessman in order to protest in person.
You might already know, but I began helping years ago by voting for the most conservative Senators and a Congressman who is fast becoming a very conservative MoC. There is nothing further to be gained by tying up the phones and computers of Coburn, Inhofe and Sullivan asking them to do what they are already doing. And no other reps in the nation will really pay any attention to my opinion, so there is no point in calling any others.
I am also active in a local Tea Party group, doing what I can.
If you have suggestions as to what more I can do, I’m open to hearing them.
