Gee, if this healthcare bill is such a good thing, why would they deny themselves its benefits?
Starting in 2014, most Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty.
The penalty will be phased in, starting at $95 or 1 percent of income in 2014, whichever is higher, and rising to $695 or 2.5 percent of income in 2016. But families would not pay more than $2,085.
American Indians dont have to buy insurance. Those with religious objections or a financial hardship can also avoid the requirement. And if you would pay more than 8 percent of your income for the cheapest available plan, you will not be penalized for failing to buy coverage.
Those who are exempt, or under 30, can buy a policy that only pays for catastrophic medical costs. It must allow for three primary care visits a year as well.<.i>
I will use the same exemption code as these "senior staffers" who drafted the bill.
this is going to be fun...BIG TIME
Evil, despicable, elitist. An effete corp of impudent snobs.
this is a plain old-fashioned Democratic tax bill, disguised as a health bill, designed to preserve and expand the jobs and benefits of the parasitic class in DC. Nothing more...nothing less. Yours and mine health care needs merely interfere with their career plans.
Mark...
thanks Bell407Pilot.
Is anybody really surprised by this?
Illegal.
...didn’t some NY group (the Apollo something or other) write the first bill? I remember Beck talking about it last year
So much for Equal Protection....
It should be unconstitutional for them to have a different health plan. What, one for the corrupticians and one for the masses? That one needs to be challenged.
The Republicans shoud do everything in their power to force a vote on a provision to make all government employees subject to this bill. Keep it in the headlines day after day, and use every procedural trick in the book.
There are a fair number of conservative representatives fighting for us, but I wish I were more convinced that the Republicans had a solid road map to move forward. They did a good job of staying united but there is always room for improvement. They need to stay on the offensive - they have the public on their side!
We all need to write letters to the editor of our local papers, the media is not going to point this out - and this is just one of the issues that will enrage ordinary people that read it. There is no justification for anyone to be exempt from this heinous legislation - except that they are TOO GOOD to have to submit to it!
@!#@$^$#@!@#@@!!!!!! (I can’t say what I really think)
May they all die a painful death.
