A New Low… Liberal Media Now Running Terri Shiavo “Pull the Plug” Musical Comedy for Children

Well, here’s a new low from the godless left… “Family Guy” marked the 5 year anniversary of Terri Shiavo’s court-ordered death by staging a children’s musical comedy about pulling the plug.

Maybe they’re preparing us for Obamacare?

Since when did mocking a family over the court-ordered death of their daughter become good humor?

NewsBusters reported:

Seth MacFarlane marked the five-year-anniversary of Terri Schiavo’s court-ordered death by staging a preschool musical about it in his crass FOX cartoon, “Family Guy.”

MacFarlane denied Schiavo human dignity in the March 21 episode by referring to her in lyrics sung by cartoon preschoolers as “the most expensive plant you’ll ever see” and a “vegetable,” and noted “her mashed potato brains.”

The child who played the role of Schiavo’s husband, Michael, ultimately concluded, “There’s only one solution, it’s in the Constitution, we’ve got to pull the plug.”

OK, let’s just sit idly by while the entire culture is coarsened to the point of no return. “Makes no difference to me!” “I’m indifferent!”

See The Fine Art of Godly Mockery.

There is a fine line between responsible ridicule and malicious mockery

In MacFarlane's case it's just mockery for the sake of viciousness. There's no other purpose for mocking Terri Schiavo so mercilessly. I'm sure it terribly affects her family. But since it's not YOUR family, it's OK.

This isn’t every little insufferable thing. This is this thing. And I do believe it’s the first time the d*ckless little twerp has moved me to anger.

I’m getting damned tired of doing nothing while the worst among us hijack the culture.

I don’t disagree.

I never said it was OK.

The article title says in part: "A New Low… Liberal Media".   What about Examples of the 'Conservative' media abandoning Terri - March 2005?

I remember how at least a couple of radio hosts in the 'conservative' media betrayed Terri in her final days.

The bopsi twins / tag team of Hewitt & Hogue-it (KTKZ - Sacto).

It started with a court or Supreme Court decision that ruled against Terri. On a national level, we heard from Hewitt, '... it's all over, it's the Court has ruled, it's the Law, the Law, there's nothing we can do', (let Terri be killed...)

It must have been the next morning or so, that listeners here in Sacramento heard from Hogue-it. What was most important to him at that time? Arnold's petitions. Nothing could interfere with getting signatures for the petitions. I guess it never occurred to anyone to include a petition for Terri, right here in California.

'...We would like to help Terri, but what are we supposed do?' Hewitt & Hogue-it both had concerns about a rescue by state officers or federal agents. Concerned about a shootout, what if other patients get hurt or killed. Again, Terri being starved for certain was less important. And then, echoing Hewitt, 'the Court ruled, the Law, the Law, blah, blah, ... nothing we can do', (let Terri be murdered.)

Hogue-it, early in the morning, all concerned about the petitions, and believing that it was time to kick Terri under the bus. Everyone, be sure to stop on by the parking lot and sign the petitions.

For the archive, it would be nice to have a recording of one particular phone call. The caller had a familiar voice. I wonder if it was "Sacto Dan"? The caller wanted someone to intervene to stop the murder of Terri.

But Hogue-it, he was all cranked up on Cornerstone, 'WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSSED TO DO?!!! - THE COURT RULED!! - blah, blah...' Hogue-it hounding a regular caller.

DEAD AIR. - (What every broadcaster dreads. Was it five seconds or more?)

"Eric, it's not right."

'I KNOW IT'S NOT RIGHT... BUT THE COURT RULED, ...THE LAW, blah, blah... WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?...'

~ 'To all you listeners out there, - be sure to stop by and sign the petitions, and get your free cup of Cornerstone...!!'

Had Terri somehow become an embarrassment to some of the GOP or to some conservatives? Did George & Jeb really care about Terri, or were they just going through the motions? There have
been reports of political / fund raising connections to supporters, hospice owners, or others who prefer that the seriously disabled would cease to exist.

One Terri FReeper tells of a Coast Guard Capt. that was ordered to fly his helicopter to pick up Terri and fly her out of Florida. But then his orders were countermanded. No help for Terri. At what level in the chain of command would that decision be made?

Did Hewitt & Hogue-it make personal decisions to abandon Terri, or did they get orders 'from on high'?

Does anyone else remember these details? Or, do you have other examples of 'conservative' media abandoning Terri?
