Huge crowds expected for McCain-Palin event
The East Valley Tribune, Phoenix, Ariz. ^ | 2010-03-23 | Mike Sakal

Campaign staff and volunteers of Sen. John McCain and his former vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin are preparing for the pair’s appearance at Mesa’s Dobson High School on Saturday.

A spokesman for the camp offered a bit of advice for those wanting to get in: “Folks should get there early,” said Brian Rogers, McCain’s communications director. The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket.

Also speaking at a rally in Tucson on Friday, the appearances are McCain and Palin’s first ones together at a public event since their concession speech in the 2008 presidential race.

Their appearance comes just four days after President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care reform bill. McCain has been an outspoken critic of the bill and plans to lead an effort to repeal it.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is stumping for McCain. She will speak about McCain’s values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.

McCain will speak about what he appreciates in Palin’s leadership, and speak out against what he believes are misguided priorities in the White House including government overspending, his concerns for the 17 percent unemployment rate in Arizona and the state’s home foreclosure problem as 48 percent of homeowners in Arizona are under water, according to Rogers.

DeMint was an early supporter of Mitt Romney.

“McCain is Obama’s boy. In FL we are getting rid of Crist. McCain is more evil than Crist.”

Way more.

“The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket. The gymnasium can accommodate about 2,000 people but an online RSVP at www.johnmccain.com/sarah, has received more than 2,000 RSVPs already”

In other words, Sarah’s popularity COULD throw the election to McCain.

Unfortunately, JD has never led in the race.

Let’s hope he turns it around.

Me too. This is not consistent with what a conservative should be doing right now.

Yup. Crist is just a hard core RINO who loves Obama and other Democrats. McCain is the same thing but McCain sabotages the GOP and conservatives. McCain sabotaged us AND AMERICA with McCain Feingold.

The seniors in AZ can blame McCain’s good friend Obama for pretty much destroying their healthcare and their future. They may finally connect the dots because ObamaCarte is gonna hit them and baby boomers like a freight train.

We got a Demo Congress 2006/2008 and Obama 2008 thanks to McCain-Feingold. Anyone who thinks that is wrong can just review the rage the Dems went through when SCOTUS gutted it.

Now I want to hear from all the FReepers who said she won’t affect the outcome of the primary.

That was then FRiend, this is now. DeMint hasn't indicated that he would support Mitt-Witt this time around, and took himself out of the running as well.

You’re deluding yourself about DeMint. He got in early enough and lobbied the whole SC delegation and state house on romney’s behalf.

He attached his cart to the political horse of Mitt. Has he decoupled or expressed not supporting Romney now? NO.

He should though because ObamaCare will kill Romney’s chance at a nomination due to MittCare...it will be THE issue for midterms and 2012.

This is where all of my anger towards Palin comes from.

It is clear that in an otherwise close race, Palin’s celebrity and popularity could very well cause Hayworth to lose. If Hayworth loses by one or 2 points, Palin will be the SOLE REASON, and only a moron would think differently.

The only thing that would make ‘Rats howl more would be Roe v. Wade were overturned, i.e., “A day without killing babies is like a day without sunshine.”

Yep. Many Democrats seem to exist just to murder babies, while the rest are indifferent to the slaughter.

Since when do conservatives become beggars. JD needs to win on his own merits.

I pose the hypothetical question, "what would FReepers be saying, specifically Sarah-supporters, if she were working this hard to re-elect (for example) Lindsey Graham, Orrin Hatch, Arlen Specter (had he not switched to the 'Rats), etc?

I submit that the reaction would be one of universal outrage, but because she was McStain's VP choice, she gets a pass.

Expediency carries the day.

I agree. I think it is shameful that McCain had to beg Sarah Palin to come into a primary race to save his dirty ass.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/03/15/demint-not-sold-on-romney-as-2012-approaches/?fbid=ZbfEdPU6ZVe

"DeMint told CNN Monday he isn't sure he'll endorse Romney this time around - even though Romney was recently in South Carolina raising money for the senator's re-election bid."

That was a little over a week ago. I'd like to think DeMint is beginning to see the light.

Well,that is good news.
I would think after ObamaCare passing that he’d be done with him as most will.
