You know I wasn’t seriously opposed to Mitt Romney until his bots starting pssing me off with their bogus propaganda.

I’m feeling the exact same thing with the Paulbots here.

I’d still be for Paul in the general if he wins the primary but I seriously hope Grayson cleans his clock.

LOL. I luv ya for your honesty, Impy, and that doesn’t mean I always have to agree with you or you with me. I always try to gravitate to the most conservative candidate, but sometimes an Adam Kokesh pops-up which forces me to back the alternate choice.

Rand was already a stretch, given his father is Ron, but Adam Kokesh is a deal killer. If Rand is the nominee, I’ll just be grateful I don’t vote in KY.

Here’s to Trey Grayson winning.

I never liked the tactics of the Paulbots. Romney's followers seemed OK but misguided and easily mislead -- until the after the primary when they insisted Romney was the ONLY acceptable choice for veep and demanded McCain pick him, attacking ANYONE who disagreed as an anti-Mormon bigot. Now THAT certainly didn't endear me to him for 2012.

I agree that Rand Paul is probably more conservative than his father and less nuts. The claims against Rand Paul (nutty, closet 9/11 truther, hates the GOP, etc.) probably suited Bob Conley better, who was a Paulbot loon on steroids. At least Rand Paul hasn't announced he's joining the RAT party because he's mad at the GOP over Iraq (Bob Conley announced his resignation from the party and said the GOP can "go to the devil" after the Iraq invasion and that he would caucus with the RATs if elected to "punish" the GOP).

But in both cases, we're supposed to believe some guy who agrees with Obama about shutting down Gitmo is the "true conservative" in the race and his opponent (who does the right thing 80-90% of the time) is somehow worse than Mark Kirk and a closet Democrat. Paul's followers constantly insisting Tray Grayson is uber-RINO scum is getting tiresome. Allegra's "Ron Paul Acolyte Glossary" in post #34 of this thread nails the Rand Paul camp's tactics perfectly.

I would have preferred Bill Johnson for the U.S. Senate, but now that he's withdrawn from the race, the choice is either Paul or Grayson. Grayson is the more mainstream conservative of the two.

Cheney and Palin's endorsements in the Rick Perry vs. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rand Paul vs. Trey Grayson primaries don't tell me much, as I would say BOTH primaries featured two candidates that were acceptable in the general election but had some disappointing flaws in their background. I would have voted for Perry and Grayson in those respective primaries, but I'm not a big fan of either.

In this particular primary, both Grayson and Paul were good friends with Senator Bunning, strongly supported his record in office, and both said they wouldn't run if Bunning planned to seek another term. Paul is no more "principled" than "establishment choice" Grayson when it came to entering this race.

I can say that if Paul wins the primary, I will support him in the general election. I doubt the same is true with Paulbots if Grayson wins the primary.

Right, I doubt the Paulbots will support Grayson.

Grayson has been given a gift tonight by Rand himself who's apparently been calling Grayson a liar for saying that he wants to close GITMO. His rant about it is posted on his website again...lol.

>> So you prefer an "ex"-DEMOCRAT, who was proud to have his pic taken w/ Bill Clinton? <<

If Tray Greyson is unacceptable because he was a DEMOCRAT and fan of Bill Clinton when he was in college, was Ronald Reagan unacceptable because he was a DEMOCRAT and fan of FDR in college?

As late as 1948 a brainwashed Reagan was slamming the GOP Congress and stumping for Truman and Hubert Humphrey who was elected to the Senate that year.

People can wise up.

Excellent post. These Ron Paul people are more aligned with the Democrats than they are with conservatives.

They talk a good game, but frequently trip up and expose their true thinking such as this Rand Paul-Gitmo business and Debra Medina's bizarre truther-like squawking on the Glenn Beck show.

The Paul Libertoons are trying to infiltrate the conservative movement and are running on our ticket, pretending to be conservatives in order to accomplish that. But if they lose on these tickets, they pull all support for any GOP candidates, such as Debra Medina did in the Texas primary. She hasn't said she'll back the Democrat (Bill White), but she certainly did say she would not back any GOP candidates.

These people are poisonous to our efforts to get conservatives elected to as many Congressional seats as possible and it's up to us to catch these little snakes and expose them for what they are.

Oh sorry, I should have looked into that more closely, as to your reason for posting the list. IMO, too much is made of endorsements at times. This one is significant, though, considering the battle that is brewing in KY.

But how long has Dr. Paul Jr. been a Kentuckian?

And, did you know one of the most scurrilous accusations they use against Grayson is that he is -— GASP -— an ex-democrat!! Oh, the horror. He voted for Clinton when he was in college. Evermore, he has been Republican and good for him. Clinton did that to a lot of people, present company included.

Uh oh, looks like Impy found the smoking gun here!!! Listen to this audio clip of then DEMOCRAT Ronald Reagan eagerly stumping for liberal socialist Hubert Humphery in ‘48:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJDhS4oUm0M

Well, guess that settles it. According to the Paulbot argument, a guy who once promoted liberal Democrats at one point in his life CAN'T be anything else but RINO scum now. (Nevermind the fact he did it decades ago and has long since supported the GOP.) And I heard he approved tax hikes to balance the budget in California too!. Looks like neocon Ronnie Reagan is a statist AND doesn't understand the constitution too. Reagan is a pro-war chickenhawk who wants the US military to police the world.

There is only choice for principled conservatives in this race, and that's George H.W. Bush. He's been a Texan longer than Ronnie Reagan has been a Republican! Ouch! The fact he's the son of Goldwater-supporter Prescott Bush can't hurt, either.

The campaign for liberty continues!!!

By the way, did I mention Reagan is a former DEMOCRAT and Hubert Humphrey supporter?

;-)

The KY primary is bigger than Paul & Grayson. Its the grassroots vs Old Guard Establishment. Two things determine the fate of the primary. (1) Can Rand Paul be Debra Medina-ed? Rand Paul seems much more savvier than his dad. (2) Opinions on Mitch McConnell. Grassroots are frustrated with GOP Congressional leadership. As a result, people are placing their anger on Trey Grayson. If Mitch McConnell can show strong leadership in the Senate, it will relfect well on Grayson.

Oh, why stop there?!

In addition, General George Washington was not only a ‘neocon’ (actually, the first neocon, snicker) and a RINO!!

Hah, I beat them to it for once....

Anybody have an idea why Dick Cheney would endorse a ‘van jones republican’?

That's easy...Cheney is an internationalist neocon. A Member of the CFR, he has no respect for constitutional nor conservative principles. That's why he made it up as high in the GOP as he did. Sure, he talks tough, he sounds nice, but instead of protecting our birders & defending the United States he prefers keeping our military in foreign battlefields. His belief is that the role of the US is to spread democracy throughout the world rather than shine a light of liberty that other nations should emulate.

BillyBoy that is the same silly argument that you and La Enchiladita and the other romneybots use to promote Mitt Romney.

Supporting a democrat in the 1940s, being a democrat in the 1940s has nothing to do with Mitt Romney and Trey Grayson supporting and voting democrat in the post 1960s, post Vietnam, post Roe V Wade, post Reagan Revolution, 1990s.

A lot of this pro Grayson stuff is romneybots supporting a Mitt Romney man, you just pinged one of the biggest romnybots on FR, and La Enchiladita is another one, the Cheney's are even Mitt Romney people, Liz has actually joined the Romney campaign.

As far as Reagan and 1940s America, see post 97.
