Thanks so much for the information, Joe! I appreciate it a lot! I understand some parts a little better now, that’s for sure!

I had the occasion to speak to several pediatricians, and my Daughter’s Infectious Disease Specialist back in February about H1N1, and the likelihood of immunity if you had caught it. They all told me that there really hadn’t been enough time, or enough cases to tell for sure, but that it most likely did. I know I was watching to hear this winter if they had found any mutations — that’s the only thing I was worried about for my family personally. It’s kind of good news to hear that some may have built-in immunity due to it possibly being related to the 1918 strain.

It makes me wonder if my relatives were exposed to it seeing how sick I got, and my one daughter as well who came down with a bad sore throat the day after I finally went in and who took longer than the rest to get better. [The rest of my family basically had a very bad head & chest cold for about 2 weeks, and then took several weeks to completely regain their strength — only one daughter had any nausea, and then only the 2nd day. None had too bad of aches or anything, just absolutely exhausted and felt like their limbs were made of lead! They all had low-grade fevers or none at all - nothing higher than 101 (and that was only one of them on one day...). I can NEVER get my kids to lie down long enough for my taste when they’ve been sick, and this time I didn’t have to say a word about taking it easy — they were more than happy to lay down, watch movies, and let me wait on them! ;) ]

Anyway, I also understand about the waters being muddied by Obamacare, especially — not to mention the proposed law in Massachusetts of forced vaccinations! I am still curious about the start of this flu (a boy and the family’s chicken 3+ years before in my state of Wisconsin???). There were also some suspicious events prior to the announced “pandemic” in relation to contaminated vaccinations and such, so believe me — I definitely understand where some people are coming from!

Plus now I understand what the other poster meant because he was viewing this from a completely different vantage point on the “inside” business-wise. It doesn’t help that I get a little sensitive about it, understandably I guess. :)

I have a quick question that perhaps you can answer for me that’s semi-related to this discussion...

I was speaking to my County Public Health Dept. today regarding my daughter’s infection (she had subcutaneous blastomycosis which is a “mandatory report” disease — first to the county dept., then state, then the CDC). Now the first time I spoke with the woman who was in charge of the investigation they were conducting said there was an “epidemic” in our area. The woman I spoke with today said there were “clusters”. I was just curious if the first woman was exaggerating perhaps to ease me about the phone call (I don’t like the gov’t calling me! LOL), or if those words can be used interchangeably? (I don’t see how they could be, but then they are pretty sure they are looking at a probably time of infection of about 3 mos. ago. They have done and are continuing environmental testing, but it’s hit or miss since winter has come and gone especially when trying to pinpoint exactly where people came in contact with it...)

Thanks in advance if you can give me your opinion of the above! I would appreciate it. [So many things going on medically in my family over the last year it seems — I was already a “medicine geek”, now I’m learning about some things way more in-depth! Wish I wasn’t though! LOL]
