A Christian who prayed in a public park with six other people is serving a nine-day jail sentence for disorderly conduct even though his case is under appeal and charges against the others were dismissed or overturned.
Julian Raven of Elmira, N.Y., said he was "surprised by police at his office," handcuffed and taken into custody this week, according to the Alliance Defense Fund, which is defending Raven.
"According to his wife, police escorted him out of a court hearing … in handcuffs in front of his crying children to begin serving his nine-day jail sentence," the organization said in a report.
"We are surprised at how eager the city was to arrest Mr. Raven again in light of his appeal. Now he will serve time in jail; however, we will continue to aggressively pursue his appeal in court," said Joel Oster, ADF senior legal counsel.

A public park that his tax money is no doubt funding.
But by gosh, don’t offend the homosexuals when you’re in there.
I’d like to know if the police would make such an effort at keeping the gays away from a Christian event in the park.
If those Christians or their lawyers were worth their salt, they’d set up a Christian event and call the police when the gays showed up and see what happens, and deal with the hypocrisy then.

Maybe a Christian event offering counseling for homosexuals that want out of the “gay” life, with booths from various organizations that help homosexuals, and former homosexuals testifying how they were saved from homosexuality.
Then see what happens when the homosexuals turn up, would they disrupt? And what would the cops do when they disrupt, as disrupt they would?
Of course, the city wouldn’t allow such a gathering.
When governments promote and protect evil and arrest those who are innocent and doing good - bad times are at hand.

A public web site and billboards should be made with the pictures of the faces of those nazi’s who 1, arrested the man. 2, Judges who let it happen. and 3, the people who made the claim of offense.

Elmira was the location of the prison in the Civil War that brutally treated Confederate POWs. Historians ignored this and concentrated instead on the evil Andersonville, GA.
