Tiahrt, "Defund Obamacare"
Tiahrt Press Release ^ | 24 March 2010 | Congressman Todd Tiahrt

Posted on 03/24/2010 8:32:34 PM PDT by Kansas58

Less than a day after President Obama signed the Democrat’s healthcare bill into law, the Ranking Republican of the House subcommittee with funding jurisdiction over federal healthcare spending has proposed House-Senate strategy discussions to defund the new law. U.S. Congressman Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.) has sent a letter to House and Senate leaders proposing that meetings begin immediately to "undo the damage" done by the new healthcare law, including moves to defund the new mandates.

Tiahrt is the Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.

"Now that President Obama has signed the unconstitutional healthcare bill into law, Republicans need a full-court-press strategy to undo the damage Democrats have created," said Tiahrt. "I am calling for strategy discussions with House and Senate leaders so we can begin the process of defunding every federal mandate contained in the president’s new law."

There is plenty of video out there, could a defmation suit be brought against members of the Black Caucus and Barney Fag? The videos clearly show who they are accusing.

The strategy should win, regardless of the candidate pushing the strategy.
Tiahrt is right on this -— and there are things that can be done NOW, before the election, to force Democrats to make more stupid votes!

We have the high ground now. In the past we were seen as against granny, we were against social programs, and for the rich. This has shifted especially with the elderly. We need to support the Boomers and go instead go after bloated federal programs. They will have the majority of Blacks and Latinos, but gay rights and abortions offend Black and Latino Christians so depending on what approach the GOP takes we could peel off an additional 3 - 5% in 2012. I believe it was Axelrod that warned Hussein that they could not win with just Blacks and Eggheads.
Hussein is -26 (I believe) among Indies, which is really bad. Risk is that we lose Indies after 2010 by getting stupid. Incrementalism is the key, get money back into people’s pockets, extend jobless benefits with corresponding cuts in the IRS, EPA, NPR and NEA. Traditionally we do not like extending jobless benefits, but this is not a time to fight this, just cut programs most Americans do not like.
Try to freeze federal wages and initiate a comprehensive review of ALL federal jobs and pay scale outside the DOD. (still at War)
Force Hussein to veto a bill that requires ALL members of the House, Executive and Judicial Branch be forced into Obamacare.
Force Obama to veto a bill which fully taxes Union healthcare plans and prevent Healthcare First responders, Doctors and Nurses from being unionized.
Force Hussein to veto a bill that temporarily lifts DOD end strength restrictions (max manpower) for initial commissions and enlistments. Lift restrictions from FY 2011 to FY 2017 for initial joins only. This allows more college grads and high school grads an opportunity to join the military while jobs are scarce. From prior experience I can tell you, people that join just for jobs rarely stay beyond their first enlistment. As soon as economy rebounds they are gone. Divert some stimulus money to DOD specifically for this. Cut funding to NGOs and other non-governmental programs to pay for.
Force Hussein to veto a bill that approves funds targeted to increase infrastructure construction at military facilities, bridges and roads. Get money left from TARP and Stimulus Bill.
Force Obama to veto a bill that exempts veterans in the VA, TRICARE or TRICARE for Life systems from Obamacare restrictions and taxes. Transfer funds from Obama care.
Force Obama to openly oppose or support a Republican job retraining program similar to an old VA program. First year Government pays half of wages (set a Limit, minimum wage +$3.00 or some such amount) second year government pays 25% third year employer is responsible for 100% since by then new employees are fully trained. Get money from Stimulus to prevent Hussein from spreading it around to ACORN groups.
Force him to veto a bill allowing early retirement for federal employees to include Medicare and Social Security at rates that are adjusted for age at retirement. Jobs are scarce; we need to get younger adults employed. Older employees are not leaving because their retirements were hammered and they cannot get the federal package until age 60.
Critical that this NOT be done as a single comprehensive package that most Americans will not understand, but one bill at a time, no more than 50 pages and made public from day one. Death by a thousand cuts!!!! But what do I know; I am just another angry white guy, with my guns and God to comfort me.

We wouldn’t be in this position if McCain had been elected.

If a Dem-led Congress can create messes like the sub-prime mortgage debacle without the President’s help, a Repub-led Congress can certainly throw a fiscal monkey wrench into health care implemenation. Get out the vote!

Maybe so, but you’d probably have amnesty, and with that $20 million voting bloc, Republicans would never have a chance to be in power. Amnesty is still a threat, but I think we can take back the House before that happens. After this national ipecac has been poured down our throats, the last thing Americans want is amnesty.

Kansas Congressman Todd Tiahrt has the right idea: Even without a veto-proof majority, next year, the way to stop this stuff is to DENY any attempt to FUND the enforcement of or the administration of Obamacare! Also, we can probably force lots of votes on the same issues, even before the next election, just to keep this issue in front of the voters!
+++++++++++++++

Yes, yes and yes!!

Right. Legit point. And I worked to get Palin
(and McLame)
elected.

I like your point about amnesty - if you think there was hell to pay on socialismcare - imagine if they start messing with our franchise - with our right to vote as US citizens.

How can we defund it when they can automatically seize our paychecks?

If all the Republicans can stick together then they can filibuster every appropriations, even the budget add-ons forcing Obama to beg for a continuing resolution.

And then fight the continuing resolution. I want a "government shutdown" of 0bamacare!

“I also think somebody for the tea party needs to step up and demand proof of these so-called racial epithets last weekend and these so-called death threats. If something isn’t done to put them in check, they will use this over and over to completely smear pubs and independents indeifnitely to or through the election.”

How true! I think Nancy & Steny were trying to instigate some of this over the weekend when they were prancing about with that gavel & using members of the Black Caucus as props. Some organization (I missed the who it was) is offering a $10,000 reward for proof of some of these allegations that happened over the weekend. So far no one has come forward with anything.”

Now that Eric Cantor has stepped forward telling about the shots fired at his Richmond office, maybe some of this will die down a bit. Dems never seem to be happy unless they’re both the biggest victims and biggest bullies on the block.”

“Speaking of marketing conservatism, here’s a great PJTV video about that very subject from Bill Whittle.”

Thanks so much for the link to the Whittle video. The ending was great. I’d love the bumper sticker at the end.

He would make a great senator; that’s why KS won’t support him, I suspect.

How could we obtain 2/3 of both houses to repeal? As impossible as repealing the electoral college
