Meghan McCain’s Visit to (GWU) Campus Met With Student Protests (she attacks conservatives)

Her mission? To “redefine” Republicanism, to make room in the party for diverse viewpoints and ideological differences.

“I’m saying make room for all Republicans,” she said. “Not tomorrow. Today….We evolve or we die.”

For someone who grew up in a house with elephant wallpaper in the bathroom, McCain took a circuitous route to Republicanism, registering as an independent voter at age 18 and even voting for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004. But “sometimes love sneaks up on you in weird ways,” McCain explained, noting that her experience on the campaign trail changed her mind, leading her to a new belief system, and she re-registered as a Republican as a Father’s Day present for her dad.

Believing that her support for gay marriage will ensure she is “on the right side of history” when the “civil rights issue” of her generation is finally decided, McCain challenges anyone who does not believe she can reconcile her position on equality with her Republican identity.

“Move over GOP,” she said. “Because I’m not going anywhere.”

(snip)

McCain, who kept the event closed to outside media so that student journalists could have an advantage in reporting on her visit, encouraged those in attendance to “stay vocal” and to demand the right to speak out. Because of her own refusal to be silenced, McCain knows she has become a controversial figure – a role she would not have necessarily chosen for herself.

“I’m a lover, man. I like getting along with people,” she said.

Still, she feels her voice is important, crucial to drowning out the “fear politics” of the current partisan climate and providing support to those who may feel lost on the political spectrum.

“I’m saying make room for all Republicans,” she said. “Not tomorrow. Today….We evolve or we die.”

Meghan McCain has no idea what a Republican should be and certainly not what a conservative is. She should just join the Dem Party and be done with it.

[Art., quoting MM] "We evolve or we die."

Into what? Three-headed flatworms?

Meanwhile, is that rule true for the Reds in the 'Rat Party who are stuck in 1917?

“Move over GOP,” she said. “Because I’m not going anywhere.”

She speaks as though people value her opinion. How cute.

Didn’t Miss McCain suggest in her appearance on The View that she would be unloading on Palin in her book due out in August? Obviously they disagree on social issues and Meghan must know saying something controversial about Palin is the best way to get positive coverage for her book.

And why exactly would Meghan McCain think that anything she says has relevance? Ah, delusions of adequacy again.

And do you think McCain SHOULD be re-elected? I for one do not. J. D. Hayworth’s looking better every day, IMO.

“Where the hell did the notion of free speech go, particularly within the confines of the Republican Party?” she said.

I don’t know. Ask your father and Russ Feingold

““I’m saying make room for all Republicans,” she said. “Not tomorrow. Today….We evolve or we die.” “

Your dad tried “evolve”, and we have a communist/fascist hybrid dictator in the White House.

I’ll take vanilla. Hold the nuts.
