Yep, and would it suprise you that the convents have a statisically larger number of lesbians than the average population, for the exact same reasons. Though because the ways a woman’s sex drive differs from men’s the number of abuse cases of priests (men) vs. nuns (women) is lower, thoguh it is still a very serious problem.
I ain’t a Roman Catholic, nor (obviously) do I agree with all their theology, but I must denounce this as a red herring. Lutherans, who do allow ministers to marry, see about the same rate of problems in their ministry.

I mean really. If the Rev who is quoted in this article is accurate that 25-50 percent of Catholic priests are gay how on earth would they be able to provide to advise man and woman married couples in a marriage?

You are right though that the Vatican needs to clean house. Starting with Weakland. He covered up the sexual assault for nearly 40 years.
Sorry, but don’t agree with this. While the incident of Homosexuality is far higher in the priesthood than most leigh folk realize, the pedophile issue is mass hysteria over reality. Rates of catholic priests even accused of such acts are lower than the general population.
How the church has handled these incidents has been poor to flat out disgusting depending on the case, but the actual incident of cases is lower than the general population. The press generally doesn’t bother to point that out though, because of their hatred of anything that doesn’t buy into the anything goes mantra they desire.
