Waxman’s Vendetta (hitting critics with congressional subpoenas)
National Review ^ | March 30, 2010 12:00 A.M. | Rich Lowry

Henry Waxman is peeved. He expects corporate America to swallow health-care reform without a peep of protest — and, apparently, without revealing new costs to shareholders or the Securities and Exchange Commission....He has called the CEOs of AT&T, Caterpillar, and Deere to testify before his committee, accompanying his summons with a far-reaching document request lest the corporations miss the point: This is naked political harassment.

Saw colmes on O’Reilly tonight. He was especially slimy and reptilian. All dissent by the Tea Party against “commander zero” and obamacare is racist, donchaknow.

It’s typical pedophile crucifiction tactic: isolate an executive, threaten him of hypocrisy, and test if he is going to comply with the corruption or would rather die.

It’s testing without scruple, in total disgusting impunity.

Most of these meetings were held behind closed doors and Republicans were also blocked from these meetings. Just the tight lipped libs and their concern was not what was in the bill and no one knew what was in the bill because it was still being written. Their main concern behind these closed doors was to get the bill passed using every dirty tactic they could come up with including the nuclear option. If this bill failed then Zero would have lost his power. Pelosi told a gathering that we must pass the bill to see what is in it.

That is no doubt where they would like to take this country. Chilling graphic.

The coup is almost complete, our government is nothing but a bunch of tyrants. Anarchy will follow if they don’t back off.

Let’s see what happens when they come up against some articulate business leaders who know their stuff. This could be better than the Iran-Contra hearings. Jim Owens of Cat was burnt once by Obama, but it won’t happen again.

AT&T figures it will cost them one billion per month

What is your source for that claim?

Reuters says, "(Reuters) - AT&T Inc (T.N) said on Friday it would record a $1 billion non-cash charge for the current quarter related to the new U.S. health care reform law, as lawmakers called on the company and three other large employers to testify about expected cost hikes."

One time charge.

They may as well hold the hearings at the FedEx Field if all the companies are opposed to health care reform.

Mr Waxman,

We never said anything before because You and your Fellow Congressman LIED to us about what was in the Legislation That You nor Anybody EVER READ, We were not allowed to read it, til after it Passed. Now that we see what is actually in the legislation as opposed to the LIES we were told BY YOU and YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, we have discovered it will cost us a bundle and we will probably Fire EVERYBODY and Close our doors tomorrow. Good luck with your new Health Care Plan.

What a criminal abuse of power. Republicans should make an issue of this. The companies are just following the law and now they’re being targeted for doing so by the fascists.

A pretty high up employee of AT&T got it from his boss 2 days ago.

The entire package of the health legislation will cost them one billion per month.

Keep in mind that they are the largest employer in the country outside of the government.
