HOUSTONFormer first lady Barbara Bush was released from a Houston hospital, where she underwent tests after being admitted last weekend.
Methodist Hospital said in a statement announcing the Wednesday release that Mrs. Bush might have had a mild relapse of Graves disease, a thyroid condition for which she was treated in 1989. Her doctors have adjusted her medication.
The 84-year-old wife of former President George H.W. Bush was hospitalized Saturday after not feeling well for about a week. She was described as not being in any pain or danger.
Mrs. Bush had heart surgery in March 2009 for a severe narrowing of the main heart valve. She also was hospitalized in November 2008, when she underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer.

YAY!
Thanks La Enchiladita.
My folks met Mrs. Bush at a Navy function shortly after she
left the White House. They said that she was one of the most
genuine, approachable people they had ever met. A very
classy lady. Good to hear she is doing well.
Glad to read it. She’s a tough lady.
I believe it runs in the family...
She is indeed all that and highly intelligent.
Back in my politically active days, I attended a small, private luncheon (about 18 of us, in a private home north of Kenebunkport) with her. She's rather like the Queen Elizabeth - now hear me out!
Born in wealth, gracious, best of education, and top of ‘society’ - she is equally at home with a wooden spoon in the kitchen, stirring her homemade stew for the family while treating you the same as she would anyone else, from family to Kings to peasants.
REAL class.
That said - Prayers up for her. Graves is serious. Ari Onassis - with all the money in the world - died from it.
Pray she has access to smarter doctors.
My husband and I met Barbara Bush at an Ashbrook dinner. We were in line to get our photo taken with her and they cut the line off right as we got there.
We were probably 20 feet away, but I think she heard me say, "NO!" from where she was, and looked over, grinned, and motioned for us to come over. It was SO cool!
That photo is one of my most precious possessions.
God bless Barbara Bush and her whole loving family and give her many more years of good health and happiness!
I love that story!
I am so relieved and happy she is at home again.
We had waited a very long time in line (and some bozos had cut in front of us), so I was not pleased that we weren't going to get a chance to thank her for what she had done for this country.
I think I said "NO!" louder than I intended to, but I'm kinda glad I did now. ;)
Nice! (I’ve been offline for 2 days.)
That sounds so like Bar. I really enjoyed reading her autobio. You learn about her, her husband and her sons. They have had a wonderful life. I think they know it and appreciate it.
Happy Easter, FRiends!!
I have the feeling she's got a lot more years in her to enjoy the blessings of her wonderful family. :)
And a BLESSED EASTER to you, too!
Please, do not spam every thread with the same message. Thanks.
I spammed about 6 of La Enchilidita’s threads - WITH HER OWN WORDS - that she used to whine to me about me wasting peoples time by posting a thread unrelated to the important 2010 elections.
SO I decided to see what great 2010 election threads she has put up lately. Not a one that I found so I figgered she may want to take her own advice before she starts nagging anyone else..
