CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers was arrested Thursday at Hopkins International Airport for carrying a loaded gun in his carry-on luggage.
Rogers, who had been at the team's suburban training facility in recent days, was stopped at a security checkpoint when officials spotted a loaded .45-caliber hand gun in his carry-on luggage, police said in a statement. He was arrested at 12:15 p.m. without incident and was booked for carrying a concealed weapon, a third-degree felony.
No charges have been filed at this time, police said.
Under Ohio law, a third-degree felony carries a penalty of probation to five years in prison.

He’s going to get a big fine from the NFL too.
Was he coached by Barry Switzer?
Rogers is going to be banished to the NBA.
Total dumb ass who shouldn’t have one.
They finally got Roy.
I was in a small, regional airport in Indiana about 20 years ago and the guy in front of me had a gun in his luggage that he tried to get through the metal detector. The security guard told him to go put it back in his car. Times have changed.

Yep. Now they don’t give you a chance to correct it; you’re automatically ‘guilty’ and they mean to see you in jail. [I do believe that a handgun-ban, should it come, will be preceded by making huge groups of people ‘felons’ ... imagine a felony for, say, letting your car registration or now-mandatory health-insurance expire.]
>Rogers arrested for gun possession
I dislike the title of this article very much... possessing a gun is not, in itself, a crime.
If he can own it legally, it can be legally checked. If he can’t own weapons legally (some kind of conviction) he should be rich enough to pick one up or have one stashed anywhere he goes in the U.S.. If he was traveling internationally, he’s too stupid to breathe, let alone play football.
No need....some states all it takes is a midemeanor domstic violence or even a just restraining order.
If you worked in Cleveland, you’d pack heat too. Of course, he previously worked in Detroit, which is even worse.

I think my state has one of those; though it shouldn’t because of the State’s Constitution:
Art II, Sec 6
No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms. (As amended November 2, 1971 and November 2, 1986.)
Speaking of which, I need to challenge a state statute that prohibits guns on [university] campuses... you wouldn’t know how to start such a process, would you?
I'd have to take a guess and say to start with your Representative and see if he/she would advise you. I believe there are similar actions occurring in some States as we speak but I don't recall which ones.
Good luck!
