The point has already been made that old folks cost too much to treat. Medical devices, including pacemakers, will be taxed. Over time, we will be forced to use the cheapest medications and the least expensive interventions, or advise patients to “get used to it.” I don’t know many physicians or nurses who have that kind of callous attitude, but Obama certainly does-if it is not his family.
No, I think I got it right. He/she made the same point yesterday: That the new law was going to kill their mother who would have to clean 17 rooms with NO HELP. My immediate reaction was: "What about your help?"
I realize that maybe they live in different cities but I still feel that this person was a) overreacting and b) acting helpless.

No, on the fact that older people are voters.
No doubt there are things that Medicare won't cover over time because our country just doesn't have an infinite amount of money. But there will still be cardiologists.
There are many ways in which Medicare could spend its funds more wisely without harming anyone's health.
