“Obviously, given the demographics of this country, something will be done to prevent all cardiologists who treat older patients from going out of business.” What are you basing this on-wishful thinking? The point has already been made that old folks cost too much to treat. Medical devices, including pacemakers, will be taxed. Over time, we will be forced to use the cheapest medications and the least expensive interventions, or advise patients to “get used to it.” I don’t know many physicians or nurses who have that kind of callous attitude, but Obama certainly does-if it is not his family.

You know he isn't already doing something to help? You're pretty loose with your accusations

No, I think I got it right. He/she made the same point yesterday: That the new law was going to kill their mother who would have to clean 17 rooms with NO HELP. My immediate reaction was: "What about your help?"

I realize that maybe they live in different cities but I still feel that this person was a) overreacting and b) acting helpless.

No, on the fact that older people are voters.

No doubt there are things that Medicare won't cover over time because our country just doesn't have an infinite amount of money. But there will still be cardiologists.

There are many ways in which Medicare could spend its funds more wisely without harming anyone's health.

Skies don’t fall in one piece, they fall in bit by bit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the present situation, the clear trends, and the stated wishes/desires/intents of the fascists, I mean liberals, and extrapolating them to the logical, nay, inevitable, consequences.

I have been told that by 3 different recruiters. Yes. 120 hours per quarter is counted as full-time for the purposes of the health insurance fines.

Yes, as the health insurance reform cheerleader linked to, you will see that 2 part-time workers are added together to equal 1 full-time worker.

It will be tempting. Thank goodness my moral compass will prevent me from engaging in that.

Not as far as I'm concerned! I really appreciate the info, because I did not know that about part-time workers. Thanks for hitting the "right" button (as far as I'm concerned!).
