Payback: Giuliani to endorse Rubio on Monday
Hot Air ^ | April 2, 2010 | Allahpundit

The Shark Tank was hinting yesterday about a major endorsement to come next week, although I wasn’t sure if that was an April Fools joke or not. And if it wasn’t, I figured the obvious suspects were Palin or, more importantly, Jeb Bush.

Surprise.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will campaign with Senate candidate Marco Rubio.

The two will appear together Monday in Miami, where Giuliani is expected to endorse Rubio in the Republican primary against Gov. Charlie Crist.

In a statement released by the Rubio campaign, Giuliani said, “Marco Rubio is one of the Republican Party’s true rising stars. He’s a bold leader who will bring common sense to Washington where it’s badly needed.”

Why is one of the party’s most famous RINOs siding against the moderate in the race? Let’s join Mark Halperin and John Heilemann on the campaign trail in 2007…

In July, ‘07, Crist visited with Giuliani in the Hamptons: “I’d like to support you,” Crist said.

The next day, Giuliani shared the news with his aide Tony Carbonetti. “I think we got him; it went very well,” Giuliani said.

Carbonetti was familiar enough with Giuliani’s lexicon to know what that meant: Rudy thought it was a done deal. Seeing Giuliani’s strong poll numbers in Florida, Crist had apparently concluded that Rudy was the horse to ride. Carbonetti, a no-nonsense fixer who’d been Rudy’s chief of staff at City Hall, followed up with Crist’s main political guy, George LeMieux, flying to Tallahassee to meet with him and plan the endorsement.

Crist’s endorsement gave McCain Florida & the nomination (though most people here wouldn’t have been happier with Rudy or Mitt)

Plus, Rudy would have actually campaigned, unlike McChump, who was unwilling to attack Obama.

If it weren’t for Sarah, McCain would have lost by historic numbers.

Rudy would have fared MUCH better against Obama than McLame.

Anyone would fared much better against 0bozo than McLame.
Heck, I doubt if McCain even wanted to win at all.
What kind of candidate, goes into an election, and the first thing he does, is to effectively cripple his own campaign by banning any attacks against his opponent on the worst things his opponent has done in his life?
Sarah Palin couldn't understand why McCain banned any attacks on 0bama about Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers etc, and neither could almost anyone else.

Mixed feelings about Rude. He runs for president, which he had little chance of winning because of his NY lib, Republican credentials. But he won’t run for governor or senator, where a win would be a big win for the Republican party. Still, he wants to be a player, but not where he could do the most good.

Go back to consulting, Rudy.

And he would have been a much better president. At least he loves our country.

I see this is a thread about Rudy supporting Rubio.

The thread is full of hysterical anti McCainbots.

The PaulBots and ObamaBots have one enemy, McCain.

It takes the focus off of the real enemy, IslamOfascists
who declared war on and attacked America.

Giuliani aides were visibly upset Saturday at the news that the popular Florida governor would be backing McCain.
Giuliani campaign sources said Crist pledged his endorsement to Giuliani in the early fall, when McCain’s campaign appeared dead and Giuliani was leading the state by double digits. But at the time, McCain supporters leaned on Crist to hold back and wait until after the New Hampshire primary.

Cause McLame and Hussein are on Soros payroll.

KOS is running BS polls to try to prop up McCain against JD. Come on Rubio - show us you are a conservative and endorse JD.

The thread is full of hysterical anti McCainbots.:

There is no such thing.
McCain has done to much against conservatives and conservative interests in the last 8 years, that it's perfectly natural for conservatives to want to hit him back. Nothing "hysterical" about that.

He never even came close to McCain in the primary.

I am really disappointed RG won’t run for the Senate from New York.
