MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- U.S. Congressman Steve Cohen is drawing national attention for remarks he made about the tea party movement in a recent radio interview.

The Commercial Appeal reports that the two-term Democrat said the tea party - "without hoods and robes" - has shown an angry, hardcore side of America that's against diversity.

He made the comments Thursday night on The Young Turks, an Internet and satellite radio talk show.

Cohen went on to say tea party members have shown hostility toward anybody who isn't "a clone of George Wallace's fan club," and that he has seen no Republican standing up to appeal for reason.

What’s funny and obvious is that Cohen is the white guy who has a black opponent in the Dem primary. Now, Cohen has to give this hateful rhetoric out to convince (somehow) the voters that he’s a “good massah” and they should keep him instead of one of the “uppity” ones. His opponent is vastly and legendarily corrupt, but he IS black and this IS Memphis. What can a poor Jewish boy do except start this vile race-baiting?

AND their current racism is more insidious than their past racism. At least back then the Rats were honest and the blacks could clearly see what they were up against.

Today, the Dems have successfully eroded the black family and have somehow managed to garner black support for their own demise.

I wish we could just ignore race entirely, but the Rats will never let that happen.

In the 1980s he renounced his segregationist views, and he won his last term as governor (1983 – 87) with support from African American voters.

Of course, that is of no consequence to the real haters, is it?

Meanwhile, in today’s Chattanooga Times Free Press, in a portion of the editorial pages called “The Rant”, I got to read this gem...

“To Republicans and “Tea Baggers;” Shut up! You lost the election and you lost health-care reform.”

No signature from the spineless twit, of course.

It appears that the freeloaders are in the process of jumping the shark as we speak. They’re biting the hand that’s been feeding them since 1965 and that hand is starting to form a fist.

Dems have ALWAYS been on the wrong side of civil rights. A Republican freed the slaves & ordered the Guard to Little Rock, not a demtard.

Dear sir,

We regret to inform you that your race charge has been rejected. Race card limit exceeded. By a lot. Further attempts at race card charges will be rejected, even if valid.

Well, if you object to having your pocket picked indefinitely to support the victim/entitlement class...bingo - you’re a racist!

Pick the easiest and most vulnerable groups to demagogue. Alliance of the rich and the poor against the middle seems like a common end to Republics — and the middle never seems to come out on top when the process starts. Rhetorical question: What happened to the small landowner in Italy in the days of the Caesars? They seem to have largely dissappeared and only the impoverished and the great estates were left. They buy off enough of the middle I guess to just take over at first and then they just take and take.

Many whites in Memphis will still vote for Cohen because he’s not King Willie, even though Cohen tied them and future generations to wrath that is Obamcare.
