Tom Coburn Knocks Fox News, Says Nancy Pelosi is a "Nice Person"
CBS News ^ | 4/6/2010 | Brian Montopoli

Sen. Tom Coburn, a staunch conservative from Oklahoma, is doing what seems almost unthinkable in this polarized political climate: Defending his Democratic colleagues from critics at Fox News.

At a town hall meeting, Coburn suggested that a woman who said "they can put us in prison" for not obtaining health insurance under the health care reform bill is misinformed.

"The intention is not to put anybody in jail," he said. "That makes for good TV news on Fox but that isn't the intention."

He also defended House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the architect of the House version of the health care legislation that he fiercely opposed.

"I'm 180 degrees in opposition to the speaker -- she's a nice lady," he said. The crowd could be heard responding unfavorably to his characterization.

"Come on now, she is a nice -- how many of you all have met her?" continued Coburn. "She's a nice person. She's a nice person."

She must have pictures of this guy perfoming acts of hooverism on Bawney Fwank. Looks like Coburn needs to go.

Wow, what a cowardly, stinking pantload Coburn turned out to be.
He’s just another p.o.s. who couldn’t care less about the future of America.

Who gives a crap if she’s ‘nice’. Evil can have a smiling face, Mr. Coburn.

And it wasn’t very nice when she accused the Tea Party people of being “astro turf”. I suspect that Coburn is getting shaky because he is being requested by his constituents to become courageous and put up an all out fight to repeal this healthcare/takeover bad law. He may not have the stomach or the will for this fight and so he is knocking Fox news and making nice with Pelosi. As I said, I am suspicious.

“He said he reads the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal every day to “get a perspective”

That pretty much explains his statements.
Congratulations, Tommy!
You’ve officially become a useful idiot to the statist left and their media wing, the MSM.
Tell him what he’s won, Nancy!!!

Then only thing missing from the photo is the extended “fangs” in place of incisor teeth.

"The intention is not to put anybody in jail," he said.

The intention never is...but once the legal language is in place it will happen some day.

Coburn can do this in DC corridors of power, but don’t talk down to his constituents!! That’s who he’s dissing.

Personally, I now wonder what kind of dirt the rat’s army of PIs have turned up on Coburn?
Affairs? Young boys? What do they got?

I think it’s kind of a personality thing, I don’t think Tom Coburn is being unfaithful to his supporters by being nice to Nancy Pelosi. For example, Ronald Reagan (thank God for him) was almost always very positive and upbeat in dealing with the opposition, and I think he was even friends with Tip O’Neill. Sarah Palin is this way too. What a snake pit she entered into when she went on Saturday Night Live, but she made a positive impression on most of the SNL people.

It’s almost a tinfoil hat moment to seriously think an alien has abducted him and implanted a chip and now is being controlled from the mother ship. What’s going on with these guys?

I don’t know that he’s going liberal—he still has a 98 from the ACU, and a 100 in 2009—but I was disgusted with his quoting the Lord against fellow conservatives for daring to criticize John McCain. “First remove the beam out of your own eye. . . .”

Wait now, you're point is we should all be nice and you make a crack like this?

Well now, I never said that you all should be nice. I merely made a statement about things as they are and how many FReepers demostrate the truism that people would never say to somebody's face what they say when they get to hide behind a computer screen and a keyboard. No, you are perfectly free to discuss things rationally and reasonably, or you are prefectly free to be a complete and utter jerkwad, if that is what you choose to do. Of course, you'll join many others on the train to scrollover country.

Well, that’s his opinion and he’s entitled to it.

Actions speak louder then Tom Coburn’s opinion.

Personable, maybe. Nice? She is about as far as the east is from the west when it comes to being “nice”.
