Earlier today one person who commented on my post "Rand Paul's Latest Ad Raises Questions" suggested that Trey Grayson has some "strange relationships." Since then others have jumped on the suggestion and begun digging deeper into Grayson's relationship with the group who lobbied for AIG, "DC Navigators, LLC".
It will be remembered that only a few weeks ago the Grayson campaign proudly announced that they had received the endorsement of Dick Cheney. Today we learn that Cheney's daughter, Mary Cheney, has been an officer of the AIG lobbying firm.
Then it was revealed that Cesar V. Conda, the former Cheney aide who spearheaded the effort to undermine Rand Paul on behalf of Grayson, is a "founding principal" at DC Navigators, LLC, now known as "Global Navigators".
What seems to have developed out of this discussion is a much closer tie between Grayson and the firm which lobbied for AIG than might have originally appeared to be the case (merely hosting a beltway fund raiser for Grayson) as suggested by the "Washington Machine" commercial recently aired by Rand Paul.
Which of course raises an interesting question: why would those affiliated with this lobbying group be so opposed to Rand Paul and seemingly so favorable to Trey Grayson?
Rand Paul and Trey Grayson may be in the midst of a bruising fight for the Republican nomination to succeed Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY), but they have one thing in common: If nominated, both would beat the Democrats handily.
The latest Rasmussen poll shows Grayson trouncing Dan Mongiardo 53 percent to 33 percent and Jack Conway 52 percent to 32 percent.
Paul beats Mongiardo 52 percent to 37 percent and Conway 50 percent to 36 percent.
There have been no public polls of the Republican primary electorate since the candidates went on the air with their dueling 9/11 commercials.
But Grayson runs a little better among Republicans in these general election match-ups, while Paul does slightly better than Grayson among independents.
Your poll is not a poll on the primary race, how is it relevant?
"I'm a lifelong conservative, and I can tell the real thing when I see it. I have looked at the records of both candidates in the race, and it is clear to me that Trey Grayson is right on the issues that matter -- both on fiscal responsibility and on national security." -- Dick Cheney
Junior Paul has ZILCH national security credentials. He is backed to the hilt by deranged moonbat Truthers and anti-Zionist Paleos. A puppet for his daddy trying to buy him a Senate seat and inherit his network of cult followers.
Dick Cheney wants to homosexualize the military, just like Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
"One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clintons dont ask, dont tell, dont pursue military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share."
Sincerely, W. Mitt Romney (with Republican vice President Dick Cheney's help, it is now a "mainstream concern")
Please point to where Grayson enjoys deep support from homosexual groups and favors open homosexuals serving in the military.
Since that has nothing to do with me or any of my posts, I don’t think that will bother with that.
One supposes that the mere mention of AIG or "Global Navigators" starts knees twitching over in Rand-land, but I can't work up much outrage over it.
OBTW, it's "Navigators Global," as the author would have learned had he followed his own link to their site.
That was the central point of your post. Your “arguments” lately on behalf of this race have crossed into moonbat territory, and that’s more proof of it.
No the central point of my post was Dick Cheney, I don’t know how you could have missed that, read it again.
It is troubling to see you turn on me in a personal way because I agree with Governor Palin and the electorate of Kentucky over your second place choice, but if you look at that post again, I was addressing your making a big deal of the Cheney endorsement, Dick Cheney is nothing but a gays in the military, establishment endorsement to me with this race being a little of the larger Romney establishment element versus the Palin conservative element choosing sides.
Personally I value Governor Palin’s endorsement over the pro-gay Dick Cheney.
Nope, your point was to smear Trey Grayson and falsely accuse him of being a supporter of open homosexuals in the military and gay rights causes.
You wanted to play at Dick Cheney's endorsement being all important with special emphasis on "and on national security." -- Dick Cheney ", it isn't all important, Dick Cheney wants to homosexualize the military.
"Trey Grayson is a Romney man, the Cheneys are a Romney family.

For clarification purposes only. Here is Cheney’s direct quotes from his acb interview on this week.

KARL: OK, “don’t ask/don’t tell” — you’re a former defense secretary — should this policy be repealed?
CHENEY: Twenty years ago, the military were strong advocates of “don’t ask/don’t tell,” when I was secretary of defense. I think things have changed significantly since then. I see that Don Mullen — or Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has indicated his belief that we ought to support a change in the policy. So I think — my guess is the policy will be changed.
KARL: And do you think that’s a good thing? I mean, is it time to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military?
CHENEY: I think the society has moved on. I think it’s partly a generational question. I say, I’m reluctant to second-guess the military in this regard, because they’re the ones that have got to make the judgment about how these policies affect the military capability of our — of our units, and that first requirement that you have to look at all the time is whether or not they’re still capable of achieving their mission, and does the policy change, i.e., putting gays in the force, affect their ability to perform their mission?
When the chiefs come forward and say, “We think we can do it,” then it strikes me that it’s — it’s time to reconsider the policy. And I think Admiral Mullen said that.

Senator Bunning shouldn’t be replaced by an establishment type guy. I’m rooting for Rand.
Cheney has jumped on board the “gay military” train.
That is a powerful endorsement coming from the recent Republican Vice President.
Bluegrass Bump for this important article from Marcus Carey?

What outrages me about Grayson is that he’s in charge of ‘ensuring there’s no voter fraud’. The fact he’s not removed himself as the sect’y of state in KY while running for office is unacceptable. I will NOT vote for this goon.
