Rochester, N.Y. -- Awes Mohammed, 29, of Troup Street is charged with assault after stabbing his wife multiple times.
The wounds his wife, Nurto Mohammed, 23, suffered -- included large slashes to her face.
The two moved into the Rochester area from Somalia.

I’m not surprised they didn’t say he is Muslim. But I am surprised they said he was Somali. Usually they would call him a “Rochester” man. Oh that’s right. That’s only if he was in the country illegally.

That’s OK. The taxpayers will pay to fix her up. So she comes out better than she would have done in Somalia, where her husband’s relatives would have stepped in to finish the job and defend their honor. And they would have finished it off by cutting off her head after the husband got too tired to do any more knife work.
