We need to start opposition research on any possible replacement NOW.

Stevens wrote a letter to Obama saying it would be best if he retired during Obama’s term.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I WONDER WHAT HE GOT TO STEP DOWN?????????????

I’m not sure an Obama nominee will make much of a difference. Stevens was incredibly liberal.

Good riddance you worthless old liberal coot...

Shame he'll be replaced by a young liberal, though.

Or even 5 months?

Though I doubt the Republicans would have the cajones to filibuster a SC nominee.

Yeah but he’ll be replaced with a younger liberal piece of trash.

Filibuster his nomination until the next election when we take over both houses of Congress.

No - there must be something in the water in DC that softens Republicans’ spines.

Thank God for the exceptions, though.

This will place the confirmation process front and center for the election.

This is not what Specter asked for either.

Specter said he wanted to wait until the Obamacare intensity died down.

Sorry Arlen.... lol

Interesting....

That’s why I say we should start opposition research on Diane Wood now.

Of course he is retiring in July. Gotta get that new nominee in before REPUBLICANS TAKE OVER CONGRESS.

I’m ready to take my chances with Kagan, not Wood.

If it’s a younger piece of trash, then Barak’s ol’ buddy Arlen is going to be ticked. Some said he was promised a spot on the USSC for being a turncoat.

If the Republicans had a lick of sense, they would filibuster the next Obama appointee and leave the seat unfilled until 2012, just like democrats did President Bush's lower federal court nominees during his last two years in office.

Unfortunately, they have Snow, Collins, McCain, and Grahmnesty drooling all over themselves to approve any marxist that Obama sends their way.
