Steele's Racism Claim Slaps Own Party In Face
Newsmax ^ | 7/4/10 | Ronald Kessler

Posted on 04/10/2010 2:26:09 PM PDT by Eleutheria5

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele slapped his own party in the face with his contention that being African-American is a factor in criticism of him and of Barack Obama.

During Steele’s appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” this week, George Stephanopoulos asked the RNC head whether his race gives him a “slimmer margin for error.”

“The honest answer is yes,” Steele said. “It just is. Barack Obama has a slimmer margin. We all — a lot of folks do. It’s a different role for me to play and others to play, and that’s just the reality of it.”

In suggesting that racism is behind the problems he has gotten himself into, Steele insulted his own party. At the same time, his indication that race is also a factor in criticism of Obama sides with the left wing of the Democratic Party, which sees disagreement with Obama’s policies as evidence of racism.

If ever there were a reason to oust a party chairman, this was it. The job of RNC chairman is to be a cheerleader for the party, not a detractor. Yet Steele’s comments are only the latest in a series of bizarre remarks that undercut his party. .....

Steele is right

Yes he is and I've even witnessed racial remarks here prior to their deletions..........

Unfortunately the Republican party, as evidence here, has aligned itself into a circular firing squad............with the MSM providing the targets then watching and laughing from the grandstands.....

He gives one good speech and all of his negative attributes go away?

The guy was elected for one reason and one reason only and pulls the race card and whines when criticized for not doing his job.

He needs to fill out his term and move on.

Hey! You're not supposed to bring facts and truth to these discussions!

Republicans don't like Steele because he's black.

No wait. That's why he was elected...Never mind.

The idea that black politicians have a "slimmer margin of error" in politically correct, white-guilt-ridden America is beyond absurd. I am disgusted with Michael Steele for suggesting it.

There has never been a better time to be a black person in America. Our current fraud of a president was elected in large part because guilt-ridden whites wanted to "make history"; and I guarantee you that no white person as unqualified or inexperienced as Barack Obama would ever be elected president.

Oh, he gave a good speech. So what? How does that cancel out all the other garbage he’s spewed?

****************************

It proves the ‘gaffes’ are deliberate. He will drop a Pearl Harbor on the GOP immediately before the midterms, claim the GOP is the Klan, quit and join the democrats.

Just like his protoge, Dede Scozzafava.

It seems many are impressed with Steele’s latest speech, which I haven’t heard yet.

**********************

It put the gullible and simple back to sleep. THen he will bitch slap us all again later. Then be inspirational. Then bitch slap us again . . .

The real knife in the back will be the October surprise, when he does large scale the Dede Scozzafava stunt..

The history of events is that Steele can say the right thing, give a good speech, write the correct position, etc.,

That's how McCain has been getting reelected all these years.

You've missed what I've said about Kaine. He managed to cover up the need to investigate the Va Tech administration for having allowed using improper doors on some buildings on campus ~ one of which was easily, in violation of code, locked with nothing more than a chain.

Doesn't anyone want to have Kaine prosecuted?

Dede Scuffyfuzzy didn't drop a bomb on the Republicans (by endorsing the Democrat) until we'd drop kicked her over the goal line of life like a plastic Jezabell.

You think these people don't know what they are ~ but they know~!

Scuzzy was put in by the local RNC District Committee.

We haven't won that area back for God and the USA until we get rid of the committee members who picked her.

Too many people want to make the issue about "just her" but it's not "just her" ~ it's about her enablers. They must be purged.

My favorite Steele moments include the times that he told Conservatives to "shut up."

I just love this little gem:

No white, Chinese, Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Arab, Jew, Druid, Amerindian or Indian would even be CONSIDERED as a candidate for president with the One’s slim resume. Anyway, they got their guilt-ridden wish. They’ve made history, alright. Now they’ll have to live in the history they made, along with us innocent bystanders who voted McCain, hoping to NOT make history any more screwed up than it normally is. Change. Hope.

He is a plant.

No doubt, and many of us said so from the beginning. Appointing Steele as the party chairman was a knee-jerk response by the Republican "leadership" after Obama's election so the party could say "look, we have black leader too! We're not racist!"

The fact is, it was a no-win situation from the beginning. Steele wasn't qualified then, he's not qualified now, and should the Republican party fire him know, it'll set off a maelstrom of "racism" cries in the lamestream media. If they don't fire him now, he becomes a distraction for the mid-term elections and God only knows what other sound bites he'll give the Democrat party and Obama.

IMO, best to fire him now so this all has time to blow over before the mid-term elections, or the Republican Party will suffer the consequences at the ballot box in November. Steele is too big of a distraction at this point to let him have the reigns of power any longer.

They’d be insane to keep him on. Let him make speeches on street corners with a bullhorn.

This article skewers Steele with truth. I normally scan and hunt key words — this was worth reading from top to bottom.

I also wonder why Steele is keeping everyone confused about his opinion of amnesty?
