Scud Crisis Threatens War between Israel, Hizbullah

A "Scud Crisis" is threatening to ignite an all-out war between Israel and Hizbullah, the Kuwaiti al-Rai newspaper reported.

The daily said that Syria has delivered to Hizbullah Scud missiles, sparking a behind-the-scenes crisis after Israel informed Washington that "it will take steps if the U.S. didn't find a solution to what the Jewish state considers a threat to its security."

Following the Israeli warning, the U.S. State Department summoned Syrian ambassador Imad Mustafa and asked him "to inform his government about the level of danger if the missiles crossed the border," al-Rai said.

Washington also reportedly told Mustafa that the U.S. and other parties are keen to achieve a peaceful solution to the crisis to avoid war.

The daily quoted U.S. sources as saying that Israel has sent indirect warnings to Syria through Turkey and Qatar that it would "bomb Lebanese and Syrian targets in case the missiles crossed the border … and reached Hizbullah."

However, according to al-Rai, there are conflicting reports about the delivery of the Scud missiles to the Shiite party. Some sources in Washington confirm it, while others say the missiles didn't cross the border into Lebanon.

The Kuwaiti newspaper said that U.S. Senator John Kerry discussed the issue with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus lately.

"Assad's denial (about the delivery of the weapons) didn't seem convincing for the Americans who were mainly convinced that Damascus delivered the missiles to Hizbullah," al-Rai concluded.

The US State Department’s response to this new threat is as weak as wet toilet paper. God how I detest the leftists in this country. They are endangering the peace of the entire world with their ivy league appeasement and compromise theories, which have proven time and time again not to work.

I’ve just about given up on Bibi as an effective leader for the interests of Israel. IMO, he has been playing patty-cake w/ his Islamic enemies when his nation has the power (but not the will?) to bomb them back into the Stone Age.

QUIT BEING A WUS, Bibi & kill the enemy! To hell w/ what Obama says, your nation’s life is @ stake.

Expecting the US to be responsible for threats to their security.

Or it could be that the US has told Israel that they need to avoid war at all costs. A war in the Middle East (beyond the usual Israel border skirmishes) will spike the cost (and maybe strangle the supply) of oil. This will not be helpful to the world economic circumstance.

So Israel is just pointing out that if the US wants to keep peace in the Middle East, they need to “fix” this issue with Scuds. Israel cannot let Scuds be stationed in Lebanon under the control of the Hezzies which I do believe are heavily sponsored by Iran.

Dangerous times for sure.

It baffles me why Kerry would have met with Assad anyway. Kerry is a loose cannon. This bozo can’t think his way out of a paper bag in the first place, and there he is trying to talk sense to anyone, let alone Assad.

From the White House to Congress, we’ve got a massive void of rational thought.

Bibi confuses me as well. He certainly talks a tough game, but during his first tenure as PM back during the 90s he turned the keys of Hebron over to the Palis.

And so far during his current term there does not seem to be any headway made with neutralizing the Iranian threat. I will say this though . . . since Bibi took office, it has been the most peaceful year in Israel for the last decade. No major terrorists attacks to speak of and no war with its neighbors.

Israel's very EXISTENCE is enough for muzzie's to start a war.  Scuds are optional.

I thought Hillary was still Sec. of State?

Makes sense to me that Israel disarms Lebanon and maybe Syria before taking on Iran. But Iran wants to come to the defense of either of them it's Green Light baby.

Wow, more testing of Jewish accrobatics in Israel. I see we also are building the Nazi morale the liberal world over, in the name of “reducing tensions” and not turning them into communists... what a joke.

My question is how much did those scuds set Teresa back?

In other news Heinz is the number one selling ketchup in Syria.

The defense against Syrian missiles fired by Hezbollah should be bombs on Damascus and Qum.

The surrogate charade is over.

This piece is a warning to Iran to stop that shit...... the game is up

You know in the Bible how it discusses the world aligned against Israel and you always find it hard to believe in our times.

Well here we are. Obama will not back Israel. He will take his I am a citizen of the world position and sit on his hands.

Rumors are going that he has pretty much done so with a military embargo.

Nope, part of the plan. They are forcing Israel to work on at least three fronts. Dealing with those three fronts I believe, is too large for Israel to handle by herself, unless she wishes to create lots of green glass.

I think we’re going to see a war in this area that will finally decide matters, instead of leading to other conflicts a couple of years later.

Hizbullah having Scuds is a big step in the wrong direction for peace, and a tremendous step in the directon of a real war.

“The Israelis need to keep a cool head and save their firepower for the really important problems that are coming down the pipe instead of going off half cock on some stupid provocation.”

These missles can still kill people and destroy planes and tanks.

Israel has to fight the battles big or small. If the enemy starts something and Israel doen’t repond, the enemy will feel like it can strike even harder.

If someone is knocking on your back door all night, but not breaking in, you will still do something about it. YOu will not wait until they break in.
