The numbers are small. A modern record, to be sure, and an embarrassment to some. But nothing to be alarmed about. Better to just curse their greed, slap an exit tax on their assets, and move on. There are plenty more where they came from.

All Democrat politicians at the state and federal level support bad policies. In general these Democrats are evil, heinous people no mater how likable they may appear (don’t give me that good intention argument). Many Republicans are likewise (Grahm, SC), but certainly not all Republicans are bad.
A third party that splits the conservative movement only helps to promote the evil Democrats.
Maybe the Republicans can promote policies that entice productive people to actually want to invest and stay in the US

Maybe he went to Singapore to live with English speaking people who read the entire answer to a question before rebutting it.

Chile has a VAT tax, did you know ?

It's called RUT there and is 19% for most items. Chile also
1. has the highest nominal GDP per capita in Latin America.
2. has miles of uninhabited beaches,
3. is one of the few net producers of food in the world,
4. has a solvent "privatized" national pension system
5. is required by law to run a fiscal surplus of at least 1% of GDP.
6. continues to pay down its foreign debt, with public debt only 3.9% of GDP at the end of 2006.
7. has English as the most common second language and is taught starting in 5th grade in public schools and earlier in private schools.

No argument from me on anything here.

A third party that splits the conservative movement only helps to promote the evil Democrats.

No argument from me on anything here either.

People with the right political philosophy need to take over the Republican party before I'll believe just having Republican control of Congress and the White House will make a difference.

We in the middle class (upper, middle and lower) will be classified as rich and we will be taxed to our last breath. That has always been the plan;

Indeed... After centuries of struggle to get a more than two-tier society, we find ourselves on the cusp of returning to that same two tier society of lords, and serfs, masters, and slaves. And *that* is deemed "progress" by these morons. It truly boggles the mind...

Thanks for the info. My daughter has friends there (Chillian) and has visited. She really likes it and has considered moving there. Lots of fruit growers from California and Oregon have relocated there- that’s why we get all the fruit.

What you say is true, to a point. However, if the US can cause offshore banks to refuse to hold accounts for US citizens, per the new law, then where do you put your money?

” Better to just curse their greed”

Who is greedy? I’ll tell you who is greedy: Those that want to take away the rich man’s money. That is who is greedy. The poor are greedy. They want free money they have not earned.

And wealthy liberals HAVE money they have not earned.
There is no sweat on a wealthy liberal’s money.

A recently passed law deals with those renouncing their citizenship. One day before it becomes effective, all your property is deemed "sold" and you owe a very large tax to the U.S. government based upon the "deemed" value of that sale.

I hadn't heard of that. Do you have a link to a source to back that up?

A whole bunch of years ago I also saw a stat that said that Chileans also have the highest percentage of population under the care of psychiatrists. That was decades ago that I saw that, and it did sound like it was more a cultural thing than an actual increased percentage of real insanity.
