Ramsay had asked the House (of South Carolina) to declare the elected representative, William L. Smith, ineligible to serve, on the grounds that he had not been a citizen for seven years (i.e. length of "citizenship"). His argument against Smith had NOTHING to do with "Natural Born Citizen." Heck, NBC isn't a requirement for state rep, why would he argue that point? He didn't. His argument was all about the length of time Smith was a "citizen."

What would this third party canidate's particularized injury be by an ineligible cannidate's mere pressence on the ballot? Alan Keyes was on the ballot in many states, where he was beaten by Obama (and of course by McCain) but yet he can't seem to get "standing" in Court.
Correction. Ramsay had petitioned the U.S. House (not S. Carolina’s House) to address Smith meeting the 7 year citizenship or not.

I think the FBI didn’t stop investigating Davis until after Kennedy was killed. This would make it too soon to destroy files if they had to be kept for 25 years.

A former diplomatic security agent who was tasked with investigating Awlaki immediately after the Sept. 11 attacks told Fox News that the Yemeni-American national apparently lied on his visa application to attend Colorado State University, where he studied engineering.
Rather than tell U.S. immigration officials that he was born in Las Cruces, N.M., in 1971, Awlaki stated that the was foreign born, the security agent, Ray Fournier, said.
Awlaki received $20,000 in scholarship money from a U.S. government program for his schooling in Fort Collins, Colo. When asked if Awlaki was eligible, Fournier said, “No, he is absolutely forbidden to have it.” “That’s the taxpayers’ money,” Fournier added, saying Awlaki knew that lying about his birthplace would help him get the scholarship money.

Multiple alternative sources say that it was a Yemeni government-funded scholarship. But if you can show a program to fund foreign students studying the US in 1979, or even this alleged US program that Awlaki used, I’d be interested to see it.
