NEW YORK President Obamas recent demarche designed to increase pressure on Israel is having one immediate impact in the Jewish community it is hastening the formation of an organization called Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin.
Plans for the new group are set to be announced on Sunday by a Philadelphia-based journalist and activist named Binyamin Korn, a former executive director of the Zionist Organization of America. The announcement is unlikely to make big news, as the group is embryonic, with an advisory committee of several journalists and academics.
Its aim, however, is to take advantage of the growing alarm within the Jewish community at what Mr. Korn, in an interview this week with the New York Sun, called an escalation of rhetoric criticizing the Jewish state. . . . He said his group was encouraged by a defense of Mrs. Palin in an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal by the most famous neo-conservative, Norman Podhoretz, who wrote that he would rather be ruled by the Tea Party than by the Democratic Party and would rather have Sarah Palin sitting in the Oval Office than Barack Obama.
Blogger Jeffrey Goldberg and the left-of-center, anti-Israel publication Counterpunch claims that Mrs. Palins support for Israel is animated by end of days theology that believes an in-gathering in Israel will precede the apocalypse and the destruction of the Jews.
What Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin is saying, Mr. Korn said, is that the most articulate person in the public arena today in opposition to the Obama administrations shift in policies against Israel is Sarah Palin. He called her very direct, particularly on the controversy of Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, on terrorism policies, and on the emerging Obama doctrine.

Sarah Palin . . . a modern day Esther.
Some of us are Revelationary thinkers, Mr. Goldberg.
At least they added the Sarah to the group’s name. Jewish Americans for Palin doesn’t really have a good acronym.
Obama already has his own group, though, Jews for Jesus.
I personally never understood why so many Jews are frightened or put off if certain evangelicals support Israel for theological reasons.
As Jews, they clearly don’t believe that scenario will take place. So they should have nothing to worry about.
And if Jesus were to show up on the plains of Megiddo riding a white horse, all bets are off anyway.
(((((Palin Ping)))))
Evangelicals are Jews best friends.....they will fight with them if need be....what’s so wrong with that.
THAT IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SARAH THE MOST!
She is DIRECT. How I hunger for that!! I cannot STAND smarmy used car salesman slick speak that is designed to keep its speaker from showing commitment to an idea or action.
ZOA, AJC, RJC, ZStreet are ALL speaking out against abu bama now. Maybe...American Jews are snapping out of their trance. Though these are by and large conservative organizations, their voices reach a LOT of people. I wish they had been louder before the election. I know there was some internal strife going on. RJC was VERY outspoken.
G-d works in mysterious ways. Maybe SOME Jews had to see the reincarnation of Hitler to slap some sense into themselves. This has GOT to be a major trauma for many of them.
what would you think of a Sarah Palin, Herman Cain ticket? I think it would be unbeatable.
I just got to watch a short video of Mr. Cain at the link provided on the Atlanta Tea PARTY thread...WOW! He is something.
Ironic...the very thing that Haman set up for Mordecai the Jew, was made and use against Haman himself!
He is quite an amazing man and a business genius.
I always thought more along the line of Deborah.
To the general conservative gentile body politic, this would be “Herman WHO?”
