I'm very excited to be here tonight, and I'm very excited because I got some great news today. I've finally got my own TV show coming out as a replacement show this fall!

It's a half-hour weekly show that I will be hosting, entitled "Let's Hunt and Kill Billy Ray Cyrus".

I have a feeling that Miley is quickly headed to that spot where she is no longer a teen idol and not talented enough to complete in the adult world of talent.

My kids grew up before the Hanna Montana thing, so I've been spared seeing her, but Disney keeps a stable of reasonably talented young girls to be the "next thing." Britney, Lindsey Lohan, and what's her name that played Lizzie MacGuire have all gone from being the "next thing" to being "the thing" to being has beens.

Nothing has a shorter shelf life than teenage jailbait pop stars.

The big changeover in country music, IMHO, started with Buck Owens. His Bakersfield sound brought a lot of pop influence to country music. Shortly after Buck, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and a lot of other California sound individuals and groups really muddied the waters between pop and country.

I’m a big Coe fan. He used to have a terrific voice, lots of range, and he’s a very original songwriter. Sort of a preview of Steve Earle, only more so.

Yeah...I always liked DAC...truly a gifted songwriter. Not many people realize he wrote "Would You Lay With Me" and "Please Come To Boston" (among many other great hits by other artists.)
