Science: An Icelandic scientist says climate change spurs volcanic eruptions such as the one disrupting air traffic in Europe. Rather, the evidence suggests volcanoes cause global cooling and Arctic ice to melt.

The stunning eruption of a volcano under Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull glacier has disrupted air traffic over the continent of Europe as vast plumes of steam and ash were spewed into the atmosphere. Once again, we witness the power of nature over man even as man blames himself for nature's acts.

Almost every malady on earth has been blamed on global warming, so it wasn't all that surprising when Freysteinn Sigmundsson, a volcanologist at the University of Iceland, and Carolina Pagli, a geophysicist at the University of Leeds, blamed the Icelandic eruption on man-made climate change.

That would be like turning the air conditioner up one degree then taking an ice cube and putting it on a hot pan on the stove and saying it’s the one degree difference in room temperature causing the ice cube to melt.

Alright, the premise that melting ice caps induced the eruption is almost as funny as the idea that volcanic eruptions on the Gakkel Ridge started in 1999. OH dear God.

My preacher also told our congregation that earthquakes and hurricanes are caused by (well not directly, but by gods being angry about) women wearing all black, and using cellphones while driving.

God gets mad if women wear all black?? What's your preacher's take on 1 Peter 3:3-4 "3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." (NIV) That would seem to RECOMMEND modest dress. And what about the Amish? Has someone told THEM about this?
