TAMPA, FL -- Gov. Charlie Crist sat down with ABC Action News reporter Sarina Fazan Monday afternoon. When asked about whether or not he will run as an independent in the race for U.S. Senate, he said he has not made up his mind yet.
"I can tell you I'm getting a lot of advice in that direction. I'm a listener and so I'm certainly listening to it," said Crist.
He also talked about the decision to pull all of his political ads.
"I wanted to talk about what we've done in the administration to improve education to keep crime down to reduce taxes and just the common sense approach that we've taken in this administration to share with the people of Florida," said Crist.
In the past Crist has skirted questions about a possible independent run. But he now admits many around him are pushing for a party change

Just following in Andrew Sullivan’s footsteps.
Well...he’s certainly showing his true colors. Is this a scorched earth platform?
Generally speaking, it’s not a good idea to listen to what the voices in your head are telling you...
LOL, I'm sure the rats are begging him to run as an independent.
I hope Rubio has some good dirt on Crist up his sleeve. He may need it.
Thank God for Rubio. Crist is slimier than a oyster. What a Skunk.
He is Sashaying around the state flirting with the Democrats.
He’s trailing by 30 points and I don’t think running as an independent is going to help him much. That’s OK. Good riddance.
Sashaying? More like hugging Democrats.
The slime has already decided to run.
His wife’s (hahahahahahah) family has money and they did not buy a deadbeat for a husband they want their money’s worth.
The calculation will be for crist to run as a spoiler and see how far he gets.
It is all about how much DEMOCRATS will pay Crist to run.
Where is the GOP on this? Are they going to speak against but wink and say ok we speak RINO? (ala NY23?)
In FL a democrat operative lawyer set up a political party called the “tea party” in order to muddy the waters.
There are 4-6 tea parties in FL.
Hmmm...not to get involved in screwed-up Florida politics....but since Crist is going to manipulate the Tea Party and claim independent status...using confused Floridians, perhaps there is a better suggestion here.
Find yourself another Charlie Crist in Florida...and get him on the ballot to run as well...as an independent. Make the original Charlie...run against Charlie #2. I’d figure about $100k is all you need to get a Charlie #2 up and known across the street. Preferably....he ought to be a over-65 guy and tanned....just to compliment things even more.
