Don’t talk to aliens warns Stephen Hawking(extraterrestrials almost certain to exist)

THE aliens are out there and Earth had better watch out, at least according to Stephen Hawking. He has suggested that extraterrestrials are almost certain to exist — but that instead of seeking them out, humanity should be doing all it that can to avoid any contact.

Alien life, he will suggest, is almost certain to exist in many other parts of the universe: not just in planets, but perhaps in the centre of stars or even floating in interplanetary space.

Hawking’s logic on aliens is, for him, unusually simple. The universe, he points out, has 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of millions of stars. In such a big place, Earth is unlikely to be the only planet where life has evolved.

“To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational,” he said. “The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like.”

The answer, he suggests, is that most of it will be the equivalent of microbes or simple animals — the sort of life that has dominated Earth for most of its history.

Hawking : a few life forms could be intelligent and pose a threat. Hawking believes that contact with such a species could be devastating for humanity.

The aliens are also known as liberals.

This should not be a surprise. I think everyone believes this, except for some kooks at Active SETI (aka METI) who attempt to send messages out to ET.

Contact with intelligent life will certainly prove lethal to liberals.

Good thing Steven Hawking wasn’t in Grovers Mill, New Jersey in 1938, then.

He’d have been running around screaming “OH NOEZ” with the rest of the rubes.

I’m surprised that he doesn’t seem to know intergalactic ditances, and that the chances for other intelligent life in the middle of this galaxy, which is where it would have to be, are so low.

‘Just another sidewalk speculator.

Hawking is so overrated and his big bang theory is a hoax. This article proves that the man is a lunatic.

He was the original Global Warming nut in the early 90's. SNL parodied it well with the Dean Martin Global Warming Christmas Special.

Hawking should stop watching ABC. It’s unlikely that aliens would come here to eat us like the creatures on V.

Georges Lemaître proposed what became known as the Big Bang theory of the origin of the Universe, although he called it his “hypothesis of the primeval atom”.

Why is it unlikely?

Humans eat everything with legs, except tables.

Most people don’t realize that Lemaître was a Catholic priest, too. I frequently cite him when I have conversations with people who are usually atheist or agnostic and impugn my Catholic-taught science education.

That's 10exp20 stars. Not even close enough for life to happen by random chance, even if you assume that each star had a planet that could support the creation of life. Hence theories such as panspermia, which in and of itself is ridiculous.
