According to Crown Publishing, Decision Points, will offer "gripping, never-before-heard detail" about key events such as the disputed 2000 election, the September 11 attacks and the launch of the war on Iraq. Aided by a former White House speech-writer Chris Michel, Mr Bush also writes about his decisions on the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan and Iran, as well as discussing his battle with alcohol, his discovery of faith and family relationships.
A statement from Crown insisted that Mr Bush "writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his historic achievements". Since leaving the White House in January 2009, the former president has dedicated most of his time to the book, which will be released in the autumn. The cover features a photo of then-President Bush alone with his thoughts, standing in the Rose Garden colonnade of the White House, wearing a dark suit and holding a briefing book.
During his presidency, Mr Bush was known for his unapologetic approach, especially regarding the Iraq War, and for taking pride in his decisiveness. The book will attempt to justify decisions that may not have been popular at the time but which the former president and his aides have always believed would be vindicated in the longer term. He left office amid a collapsing economy and the lowest approval ratings any president has ever received since polling began.

His worst mistake was being nice and civil to the left.
Yeah, W’s New Tone really worked, didn’t it?
his biggest mistake was not defending himself against the media. Throughout his years in office, the media morphed from simply bias to corrupt because they saw what they could get away with. They got bolder and bolder and started making things up
Worst mistake was TARP. Ushered in the Marxists. Killed the USA.
Chapter 1- How I personally set the Conservative Movement back 40 years
Sorry, folks, even with all his flaws, I would still rather have GB as my President than that would-be communist dictator we have now.
Great. This is all we’re going to hear about between now and November.
Something Hussein will never do in a million years...even when we’re waiting 6 months for heart surgery like Canadians do and when crime rates in areas populated by newly “legalized” Mexicans increases five-fold.
May God bless him and his wonderful family.
He's gonna make a cool grandpa one of these days.
Worst mistake was not sacking Paulson and, like Bush pere, not paying enough attention to the domestic economy that gave us the current curse.
not much of a choice really if you ask me. We have that would-be communist dictator as president now because of George Bush and his all of his flaws.
As long as he owns up to not figthing back against the rabid left......
well, yeah. That goes without saying.
lol he is so human...i think he has princess diana syndrome...really wanting all the world to love him...
2. Then he 'checked out' and didnt do anything in 2007-2008 that allowed the financial fire to go out of control, and threw fuel to the fire by completely letting his RAT Sec of Treasury to open the floogates with TARP... this set the table for the SOCIALIST and his comrades to rape the country.
No, we can blame all that on the lies and pretty speech of Obama that mesmerized a mass of sheeple who believed everything he told them and thought his socialist ways would be an inprovement over whatever their condition was at the time.
Now to all those who voted for Obama: How has that hope and change improved your lives? Has it really worked for you yet?
It was because of his flaws that a Marxist was allowed to walk into the white house through the front door!
His worst mistakes were Pelosi and Obama.
