We were under Martial Law and I open carried for three weeks after the storm... Even had a Colonel from Ohio NG admire my weapon. We were told, "IF you have to protect yourself, shoot 'em in the head and leave 'em face down in a ditch... we'll get to them". We were NOT New Orleans, Louisiana.

Be real careful when ya buy salt licks for human use....some have biotin and selenium etc in them. Additives fer yer critters will give ya the jitters !.....;o)
Get the pure salt licks.....
I was wondering about that (additives) - any suggestions on where to buy ....local? online?
“Because “they” are selling themselves as messiahs and selling the pipe dream of cradle to grave care and support. All they will do is engorge themselves until... like most parasites... they kill their host.

Good idea!

Local feed co-op has em , just ask for the ones without additives. Specify ....pure salt. Ones they drop in the fields have binders that keep the rain from dissolving the salt block etc ......ya want the pure ones !........:o)
A grocery store had to clear it out.
They had 42 bottles but I was broke and could only force myself to buy 34 of them. I will always regret not buying the others, it is the best Rum I have ever had.
Razor wire is a commercial product that is considerably more expensive than regular barbed wire, and comes in rolls that are probably best handled with a forklift. It’s nasty stuff and would probably not be worth the space it would take to store, or the special equipment needed to handle it.
Regular barbed wire is plenty useful for regular perimeter security in my view, and it is plenty economical to stock a couple of rolls away. One great use for it is “tanglefoot” around any area that is out of sight, or just on the other side of a fence or gate. A quarter mile roll is a lot, especially in an urban setting, and if a few of your neighbors can all stock a couple of rolls, you will be ahead of the game when it comes to securing a perimeter...
Thanks!
Is water softener salt OK?
“50 LB, Water Softener Salt Block, 99.87% Pure Salt, Is Washed, Filtered, Dried, Screened & Compacted Into Blocks For Use In Water Softener Systems.”
One big problem with gold ounces is they are just too big for daily use. If the currency is no good, and you want to buy a few chickens off your neighbor, you gonna trade an oz of gold for them? OTOH, silver dollars are reasonable, and you can easily fit 1000 of them into a sturdy breifcase. That’s about 18 grand cash and carry at today’s prices. Wouldn’t hurt to mix in some silver quarters and dimes for change too.
Everclear is great stuff, and if I ever find it on sale, I will stock up.
Everclear is good for making homemade liqueurs and things, and if you are in high school, or trying to repopulate the earth after WWIII then know that girls will drink frozen pink lemonade and Everclear, if you can find frozen pink lemonade in an apocalyptic world.
They do have them... I've heard them on radio stations, thought I've never seen one... They tell you to go to ready.gov

Not sure friend........can’t say as I haven’t used it or considered such.
I would hate to steer you with bad information on that ....guess we could google it or have a sample tested locally.
Good question.......
A quick search suggests lots of water softeners use this type of sodium carbonate....vs salt as we use it on the table ......just a quick search concern. Maybe someone can help us out with first hand knowledge.

I’ll look it up, if not tonight on some future thread.
THANKS.
