Faint fingers of oily sheen have reached the mouth of Mississippi River, the vanguard of a massive spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The slick is making its way toward a delicate environment of birds, marine life and some of the nation's richest seafood grounds.
By sunset Thursday, the oil had creeped into South Pass of the river and was lapping at the shoreline in long, thin lines.

I still believe that there is a real chance that this was an act of eco-terrorism. I think that’s why the SWAT teams are out. Think about it, imgaine the easy target that this platforms are. The damage that can be done both to our ecology and our economics.
I was too loose with my phrasing. I didn’t mean a person had to go down 5,000 feet. But I think you over-simplify it. Explosive devices with a guidance system are sophisticated devices.

Google :˜make your own submersible” you would be surprised the “off the shelf” technology out there and don’t forget many of the countries that hate use send lots of people here to study and engineering is what a good portion of them study.
The SWAT Teams were sent for a reason and I don’t think they are holding “Tea Parties” on oil rigs and I don’t theink the are out there to scrub oil of sea guls!
I agree with all that, but I don’t think it was an eco-terrorist group. I think it’s more sophisticated than that.
