Christian conservative leader James Dobson withdrew his endorsement of Kentucky Senate candidate Trey Grayson Monday, switching his support to Rand Paul’s campaign and accusing “senior members of the GOP” of misleading him about Paul’s record on abortion.
Dobson said in an audio recording that he made an “embarrassing mistake” as a result of misunderstanding Paul’s position on abortion.
“I was given misleading information about the candidacy of Dr. Rand Paul, who is running in the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate. Senior members of the GOP told me Dr. Paul is pro-choice and that he opposes many conservative perspectives, so I endorsed his opponent,” Dobson explained. “But now I've received further information from OB/GYNs in Kentucky whom I trust, and from interviewing the candidate himself.”

Trey Grayson or Rand Paul, or a Democrat will become a Senator for Kentucky.
Voters have to decide which one they will vote for, are you saying that they should vote for Trey Grayson or the Democrat, over Rand Paul?

There's not a word in the Tenth Amendment that allows for the alienation of unalienable rights.
The only support that Trey Grayson has is the pro abortion crowd.

I believe in a Human Life Amendment and a Life at Conception Act as federal solutions to the abortion issue. I also believe that while we are working toward this goal, there are many other things we can accomplish in the near term."

But the Paul family’s sometimes blatant, sometimes-subtle, deceptions are helping destroy the country and the conservative movement. So, I’ll keep speaking out about that whenever possible.
Think about this. Whenever the Republicans had the majority what happened with the size of government? Did they ever eliminate an agency? What did they do about Illegal immigration?
How about this. When some people are against the Department of Homeland Security. It's because they fear that one day someone in Washington will get in power, and use that against the American People. Case in point, FBI’s Mueller for calling home-grown terrorists a threat equal to Al Qaeda. Think about how silent the Federal Government is about the Ft Hood massacre. Who are they targeting. Veterans, Militias, people who do not believe in abortion and the tea party.
We as a nation have to be VERY careful about giving our government power because if it gets into the wrong hands. It could be used against us.
Speaking of the war. We have very superior technology compared to the rest of the world. Our military can do amazing things, but for whatever reason we cannot find OBL. A man hidden in a Cave?
Have you heard what the MAIN CIA guy in charge of getting OBL said? I watched an interview with him, and according to him we let him go. This CIA officer had a great record. That is why he was put in charge, and now he speaking out. I trust this guy over a politician any day.
Think about our government this way. They have lied to us about Social Security and medicare. In other words they have spent the trust fund. They have lied to us about global warming. If government was a person or even a business. How can you trust them?
So going back to Rand Paul. He wants to get our nation back to the way our Founding Fathers intended it to be. I suggest you look into it. I know you look like you know it already. I will be more than happy to email (via Free Republic) to show you what I'm looking at.
Sounds great. Until you get past the deception and realize that he and his father are pro-choice for states, and that the amendments and legislation they propose contain no requirement that the states do their sworn duty under the Fifth and the Fourteenth Amendments and protect the unalienable right to life of every innocent person in this country.
I see. I know the argument. Saying the “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” line from the Declaration of Independence directly mandates a federal ban on abortion is as flimsy as the leftists who like to say that the “promote the general welfare” part of the preamble mandates social security and universal healthcare.
Abortion should be a states’ issue. It shouldn’t be legalized or banned at the national level.
Campaigning against one of two candidates is to be campaigning for one of them.
I have to put you down as a Trey Grayson supporter.
Let's test your logical consistency:
Other than the supreme unalienable right, the right to life, what other unalienable rights do you want "the states to decide"? Free speech? Freedom of the press? Freedom of association? The right of free assembly? The Right to Keep and Bear Arms? Trial by jury? Parental Rights? What?
Since the Constitution is THE SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND, and the Constitution itself states as its crowning purpose to "secure the Blessings of Liberty to Posterity." How then can it be "legal" to kill posterity ANYWHERE in America?
The Fifth and the Fourteenth Amendments explicitly prohibit the killing of any innocent person without a fair trial.
The Fourteenth Amendment additionally requires the states to provide for the equal protection of the laws to ALL persons in their jurisdiction.
Do you, like the Pauls, simply ignore these FACTS.
Shoot, even the infamous Blackmun, the author of Roe, admitted in the decision that if the fetus is a person they are OF COURSE protected by the Fourteenth Amendment.
Or perhaps, like Blackmun, you don't think the fetus IS a person?

Look, it is not my job to tell the conservatives in Kentucky who to choose. It is difficult for me to trust Libertarians on national security, too.
But you need to check both your constitution and history. Murder is and has always been prosecuted and enforced by the states. Murder is not a federal crime unless you murder a federal employee or official. I, for one, would be delighted to give the states the freedom to define and enforce crimes against the unborn. The states were doing just fine until the SCOTUS interfered with the Roe v Wade decision. I think the right to life movement is quite prepared to succeed in a fight in almost every state legislature if they are given the chance.
Your brittleness is astounding, any challenge to you at all starts the personal attacks.
It’s not enough to be pro-life and leave it up to the states.
This is a federal issue. We need the USSC to overturn Roe v. Wade.
We need a pro-life amendment added to the US Constitution.
Anything less is unacceptable.
By the way, the Declaration of Independence is our national charter, and the cornerstone of the organic law of the United States. Without the founding principles contained in this critical document (that you so blithely brush aside), you can’t even begin to understand what America even is.
If you’ll go to the website of the US House of Representatives and click on the US Code, you’ll see that the Declaration is presented exactly in that way. It’s the first reference point of the organic law.

How do you account for the fact that pro lifers in Kentucky support Rand Paul, and that the pro abortion crowd supports your man Trey Grayson?
This Dobson endorsement reversal seems to support the idea that Rand is the better pro-life candidate over your establishment man, what are you seeing about Trey Grayson that the voters are not?
