Allow me a moment to step away from the usual voice of this website.
What I am about to write has absolutely nothing to do with hockey.
If you live outside of Nashville, you may not be aware, but our city was hit by a 500-year flood over the last few days. The national news coverage gave us 15 minutes, but went back to focusing on a failed car bomb and an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. While both are clearly important stories, was that any reason to ignore our story? It may not be as terror-sexy as a failed car bomb or as eco-sexy as an oil spill, but that’s no reason to be ignored.

Davidson County (Nashville) has been declared a disaster area so taxpayer money for rebuilt will be available.
The article is correct. No pictures of fools wading through the water with cases of beer or basketball goals. Just people helping others, the American and certainly Tennessee way.
It is sad the lack of coverage for your disaster. The MSM limits their Southern coverage to all things New Orleans or Florida.

I know Nashville has been sidelined but did you know that in Montana we have had a huge snowtorm this weeK? NO ONE cares about us at all! At least your city got SOME coverage!

Must be too many conservatives that sing patriotic songs, and believe the Constitution is still the basis of our Republic in that part of the country. If any liberal town had gotten hit - you would have heard more. Anybody keeping track of the catastrophes that are happening every week?

I don’t mean to bust the Dixie illusion but Nashville proper is EXTREMELY liberal and not very southern anymore.
The surrounding areas are still fairly conservative and somewhat “hill” southern if you know what I mean.

Yeah, sad to say the Nashville I grew up in no longer exists, it’s now a cross between San Francisco (rich White relocated Marxists) and Ciudad Juarez (illegals).

Sad but true. Here in liberal-dominated Oregon, Clinton made a personal appearance about 14 years ago, when it appeared the Willamette River might overflow its banks.
Sand bags were put in place by thousands of volunteers, and no flooding occured. But it was national news.

A city composed of Racist Redneck Country Musicians who spew nothing but 'hate music'. You know 'hate music', that stuff about God, The USA, Love (of the opposite sex), Family, and those evil gun thingys.
Why I heard one 'hate song', that had the gall to mention rounding up bad guys and hanging them. Some old Redneck named Willie made it with another younger Redneck. I really don't know why that stuff is allowed?!?
