One of the men arrested in Pakistan in connection with the failed attempt to bomb New York's Times Square is a member of Jaish-e-Muhammad, an Al Qaeda-allied Pakistani militant group, intelligence sources in Karachi said Wednesday.
The revelation marks the first time that a specific Pakistani militant group has been associated with the case of Faisal Shahzad, the 30-year-old Pakistani American charged in the failed bomb plot. But it does not necessarily mean that the organization engineered the plot or directed Shahzad's actions.

So is this “terrorism” yet? Nadil Hasan was linked to a foreign Imam and Al Qaeda and the Ft. Hood shooting was “not” terrorism according to the Obama administration.
This can’t be true.
The Bull Dyke, Janet, has assured us that was not an act of terroris and if it was, it was an act by just one really dumb guy.
It is a Muslim country with Muslim Laws. They kill Christians when the feel like it...Stone women...
Just been perusing the Dim sites in reference to this (I can feel my hair curling!) and the excuses for Shahzad include:
“He was being forced to do it.”
“He didn’t really want to hurt anyone.”
“It was a dude ordnance, so that proves he wasn’t serious.”
“It’s a vast right wing conspiracy (I kid you not!!) to make Obama look bad.”
“He was probably dissed by Christians, so he’s entitled to his anger.”
apparently not! sigh... we are a generation of IDIOTS!!!!!
from the article:
The man arrested, Sheikh Mohammed Rehan, allegedly drove with Shahzad from Karachi to Peshawar on July 7 in a pickup truck, authorities said. They returned to Karachi July 22. It is not known why they went to Peshawar or with whom, if anyone, they met there.
Peshawar is a large, mostly Pashtun city perched on the edge of Pakistan’s tribal areas, where Al Qaeda, the Taliban and other militant groups maintain strongholds. It is also where Shahzad’s father and other relatives live.
The five from northern Virginia who were arrested in Pakistan earlier this year also sought training from Jaish-e-Muhammad.
There are a couple of people here who keep posting this stuff, too, with my favorite being that it was just an attempt by the all-knowing US government to “keep us safe” by sending this guy out with a dud bomb. Good grief.
When even Freepers refused to acknowledge terrorism, what can you do?
Thank you for not pointing out that I called it a “dude” ordnance :-)
Wow, I had no idea the same excuses were being floated here! What the heck?
Didn’t they let the ones that were with Shazhad on the plane, go?
Dammit, Faisalo, we told you not to use cash. Now, you have to blame Bush for causing you to lose your home.
“So is this terrorism yet?”
Many lefties don’t even think 911 was terrorism.
What!!??? You mean he’s NOT just a disgruntled and discouraged individual hit hard by the economy and poor housing market, Bush’s policies, who gave up on his American dream?
That’s the spin I’ve seen all morning. Morons.
The media never hassled trufers. Even Hillary Clinton proclaimed “Bush Knew” in the Senate in early 2002.
When is someone in the media going to ask Barry about
his own adventures in Pakistan or
what the heck he was doing living in Indonesia “ for several months “
in the early 1990s ??

Correct Answer-Never
Pakistani Defence Forum is an interesting read on this guy. They started out blaming the usual people (neocons, Jews, and right wing Tea party types) but now the majority is furious a Paki did it. They want his head. They also want Muslims to start speaking out and demanding these people be wiped out. Refreshing reads over there.
Yea, they just trained him but didn't know he was actually going to do it. Maybe they withheld his diploma because he couldn't pass the Fertilizer Training Course?
