They’ll use this as an excuse to blame Bush.

Wanna bet my firearm purchases got passed through this “series of disconnected databases”? I’ll give you really good odds.

Sources tell CBS News that would-be Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad appeared on a Department of Homeland Security travel lookout list – Traveler Enforcement Compliance System (TECS) – between 1999 and 2008
Um..I don't think the Dept of Homeland Security was around in 1999

George Bush sure knows how to provoke terrorists.

He was only a governor from Texas at the time he pushed this guy into a life of terror.

Quick question, how is that possible since DHS wasn't created until 2002 through the Department of Homeland Security Act of 2002?

How much did they pay for the system and exactly how much money actually went into the system?

If he was on the list; why wasn’t he detained?

I told you that thug in the WH let him board.

You were saying ...

And yet he was still granted citizenship?…

In looking over his history, I'm not sure how you could tell something was up. And it might not have been when he first got here.

He started here in the United States when he was 19 years old and a student. He came from a prominent family who obviously had money, so bringing in $80,000 in that time period, expecially when you look at school "bills" during that time (part on aid and part from parents, it appears), that wouldn't be something "out of line".

Remember, also that he put some money down on a house, too, even though it just recently went into foreclosure. So, again, it wouldn't be unusual for someone who has been to school (university), had to pay for part of it, graduated, got a job, got married, had two kids, bought a home -- and since coming from a prominent family over there, brought in about $80,000 during that time (from outside the country, from his prominent family).

He married a girl who was an American citizen. And they did have two kids. Her parents lived in (I think) Colorado. She and the kids are now over in Pakistan, but while they were here, you were looking at someone who went to university, graduated, got a job, got married, had two kids, bought a house ... etc...

These things (I think) are going to be more difficult to tell ahead of time, because I think you're going to find many who change the course of what they're doing (their minds change in the meantime) over the course of several years. They may actually start out pretty good, but something happens and they get twisted by the Islamic worldview and thinking ... and all of a sudden -- they "take a course change" in their life.

Either that's what this guy did -- or else -- he was "deep undercover" since he was 19 years old and a student and did everything "all right" (just like a normal person, in other words) and showed no signs of trouble until just recently.

The only other thing you could say is that you don't want "anyone" coming into the country from Pakistan (if that's a "criteria" you want to use) -- but I don't think that's going to fly ... :-) ...

There was no DHS watch list from 1999-2001.

TECS is a major law enforcement computer system that allows its approximately 120,000 users from 20 federal agencies to share information.

More or less.

I don’t understand - Do Barry and his incompetent Czars use the Homeland Security list of suspects as a basis for handing out green cards? I was reading that this guy became a citizen only last year.

This is idiotic. Cash is legal, and being wealthy shouldn’t make you ineligible for citizenship.
