Who the hell are you?

Simple, read the posted from identifier. I guess now we are only in doubt about your weight.

What makes this communist think it is anyone’s business except the person drinking the sodas? Are we next to hear about “second hand calories” for those people who claim that drinking “surgery”(the new buzz word)drinks only hurts the drinker?

There may or may not be doubt about Glen's weight, we have no way of knowing what his weight is, but we can easily see your display of rudeness and stupidity.

The greatest risk to public health is heart palpatations in Democrats, caused when they look at the annual reports of Coke and Pepsi, and start imagining the potential cash stream if they can scheme a way to tap into it.

I’m not laughing...I get punchy and sarcastic when I’m tired and I am tired of all this nanny-state draconian tax-grab for our own good.

It’s never for altruistic ends. Crap like this fills the general fund coffers through guilt applied tax and pays for nannies mortgages and pay raises.

Dollars to Donuts (pardon the pun) there will be a study connecting religious people to obesity - count on it.....

It's all those church casserole suppers and bake sales.

Given my family down in SW Penn, they should tax Iron City and Rolling Rock, that would work better.

Rolling Rock is now made by Anheuser Busch in New Jersey.
(yes, New Jersey!) Iron City stiffed the City of Pittsburgh on their water bill and moved out to Westmoreland County, actually the same plant which Rolling Rock used to use. (the owners are now out of state, and the cans actually say Iron City Brewing Company, LaCrosse, Wisconsin!)

Could you repeat that in something resembling the English language?

"We had expected a significant relation between the availability of parks and the obesity rate in surrounding schools," said Dr. Sirbu. What they found instead was that, when controlling for income, parks have no effect.

Still, the paper recommends building more playgrounds, basketballs courts...

"What surprised me most was even though people were educated about healthy options, they didn't follow through with eating that way," Ms. Remington said.

"Awareness is not enough. We tried to find ways to motivate people to lose weight. People don't always read the ingredients, so stores could have indicators in the aisles to show healthy options with an apple or a heart sign. Or they could have a nutritionist on site to help people make good choices."

Weenies.

Lots of money to be made by scientists to produce the result activists want.

it would cut consumption up to 8 percent

I always like these weasel words

If I don't eat anything between now and tomorrow morning, I could weight "up to" 8% less.
